Please keep all those affected by the wildfires between Loop Road and Hwy 2 north of Two Harbors in your prayers. Many have had to evacuate their homes, including friends and members of KRLC, as well as many others living in that area. Prayers for those whose homes are in danger, whose workplaces are in danger, and whose lives are in danger -- including the firefighters working hard to get the wildfire under control. It is very warm and windy . . . the fire has been named the "Stewart Trail Fire".

🪻On these two days, helpers will work to repair the landscaping and gardens for the flower bloom.
🪻On May 2, the focus will be raking gravel from grassy areas and trimming/pruning the shrubs and bushes.
🪻On May 16, we will focus on bed preparation to include removal of old plant material, weeding and mulching. Please bring tools as appropriate for the targeted days activities.

👩🏽‍🌾🧑🏽‍🌾
We will have knowledgeable gardeners available each day to help direct work efforts or answer questions. We just need some willing workers to perform the tasks. Once the gardens have been revived, the team has decided to maintain areas by section. If you, your family or group are interested in ongoing care for one of the several garden sections, let Steve, Anne, Patti or Rachael know during the work days.

Thank you in advance for your help bringing our lovely and peaceful garden areas back to life. The work will occur between 9 am and 12 noon, but join as you are able during these times.

Thank You,
Steve B.

Mark Holman, 9 ½ months ago, we of Knife River Lutheran Church welcomed you to be the Interim Pastor in this place: to observe, participate in, and lead in the full scope of Gospel ministry among us. With the Gospel you have comforted us in times of sickness and trouble, and at the death of loved ones. Sharing our joys and sorrows, you and Marcia have been important to our life together in the church of Jesus Christ, in service to this community, and in God’s mission to the whole world. As you leave this community of faith, we say farewell, and we pray for God’s blessing.

As Pastor Mark Holman has been a blessing to us, so now send Mark and Marcia forth to serve the members of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Juneau, Alaska, that they may be a blessing to others; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
Amen.

Good Friday service at 7pm.

The office of Tenebrae (the name means "darkness" or "shadows") is a Holy Week devotion dating back to the seventh or eighth century A.D.

It is characterized by the successive extinguishing of candles as the service progresses. The Christ Candle is removed for a time, symbolizing our Lord's death and burial. The "strepitus" is heard (a harsh noise indicating the closing of the tomb). Then the Christ Candle is returned to its place in anticipation of our Lord's resurrection.

Neighbor to Neighbor Fund

Many of you are asking - "What can I do?" First and foremost, pray. And pray again. There are a variety of ways we can respond in this moment, as both people of faith and citizens of this country. Do your homework and act as God calls you.

The NEMN Synod has established the Neighbor to Neighbor Fund
https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=TWQJEV5JNQE46
in direct response to our partner ELCA synods in Minnesota as they address concerns and needs in their local communities affected by federal law enforcement activity. Your gifts will be shared with them, and within our own synod should more activity arise. Thank you for your generosity. Keep vigil. Our neighbors are hurting.

Help support Northeastern Minnesota Synod by donating or sharing with your friends.
