God called me some (10+) years ago to start this association but instead of putting it into place earlier, He had me apply my energy and faith into help build GPCC (Gulf Plains Cowboy Church) rodeo play days for the past 8 years and with Gods hands and guidance it has been with great success. After many, many prayers and directions from God, He has moved me and pushed me to set into action the new
life of Texas Christian Youth Rodeo Association. TCYRA, is a non-profit organization that through its mission will offer our youth the foundation of God, Unity and Sportsmanship in the arena as well as outside of the arena. TCYRA, offers the rodeo youth of Texas the opportunity to experience and witness first hand God in their life through their accomplishments and deeds. TCYRA, offers the opportunity for them to unit with their fellow athletics and steadfast with grace and compassion the skill of good sportsmanship. TCYRA, is an association that will help build our youth for the future. Not only will the youth succeed in the arena and be rewarded for their athletic skills, but will also recognize that their hard work and accomplishments will greatly benefit others through TCYRA extended missions. New Hope Foundation – A foundation that will benefit the needs of disabled/special needs children from ages of 0-21. Needs such as wheel chairs, walkers, oxygen, medical supplies, beds, chairs,etc... as well as home modifications (ramps, handicap bath rooms, etc....) From personnel experience in my own family, there are very few foundations or options for people with special needs in getting extended help. This is a situations that many are not aware of unless you are in that position. Our amazing rodeo families will be a huge part of making many people more comfortable and everyday life more accompanying for them. Sky High Scholarship fund – To aid our rodeo graduates each year for their higher education journey. Our goal for our foundation and scholarship fund is to have a minimum of $10,000.00 in each account by the end of 2016
TCYRA's goal is to offer the youth of Texas the opportunity to hear the word and seek the kingdom of God, perform to their fullest potential and fulfill the need to compete for the finest awards in the sport of rodeo and develop along the way, lifelong friendships and life lessons. Our goal is to reach every corner of Texas through hosting organizations sanctioned to hold and carry out rodeos in order for our members to achieve points in order for them to make their way to state final competition each year.
