From our Missionaries, Jessica & Joshua Peeters, in New Zealand…

“Happy June! The second half of this semester has been exciting and full-on as we ramp up preparations for our Winter National Conference. This last week was our final full-time week on campus before we head off and students start their final preparations for end of semester exams. And what a fun and jam-packed semester it has been!

We want to thank you for all your prayers and support these past couple of weeks and would love to share a few highlights with you and a new change in role for Jess.

Walkathon

A couple of weeks ago we ran a fundraiser where our movement walked 20km to raise funds for our national student conference. The students were raising for their action groups while our staff team was raising for those who are exploring Christianity. Thanks to your partnership with us, several exploring students are able to come to conferences at a greatly reduced price. One of the students, S, who has been exploring with Jess, has recently decided to come to the conference!

If you would still love to give, we are still needing more students to be discounted to come! Here is the link for NZD: https://give.studentlife.org.nz/appeals/auckland-student-life-walkathon-2025-michael-jeffs

Here is a fun instagram video made from the event!

Missions Night

This past Thursday we had our missions night where we presented the three summer mission trips our students could go on! There was a great turn out of about 70 students and it was so cool seeing them weigh up and consider for themselves what it would look like to give their summers to mission. There were over 50 students who put through an interest form that they would be interested in those summer projects. It was a very encouraging night, so please be praying for them as they start conversations with parents and pray over going.

AUT Campus Leader Role

One exciting new responsibility I (Jess) have taken on this half of the semester is the AUT Campus Leader role. This role has come about with our current Campus Leader stepping down to be sent overseas as a missionary next semester. What that looks like for me is the responsibility of looking after the AUT campus, thinking through how our ministry is going and caring for our team and students. It also includes a lot of liaising with the AUT Campus Student association to continue to see us engaging with the university. This is an exciting new opportunity for me to grow both in leadership and to serve the ministry happening at AUT. Please pray for me that I would steward this role well and that God would work through me and our staff to see the ministry at AUT City Campus thrive.

Exciting highlight of those exploring faith

I (Jess) have had the awesome opportunity to begin exploring faith with a new girl (K) who comes from a culturally Catholic background and yet for herself personally doesn’t know or understand what it would like for her to have a personal relationship with God! We have met a total of three times and it has been awesome for her to begin to see and understand the Gospel for herself! I asked her a question whether she was a Jesus-directed person with Jesus in control of her life or a self-directed person and she said to me “only Nuns or Priests could be a Jesus-directed person”. I was shocked as she said this but it was awesome to be able to explain to her that following Jesus is available to everyone and does not necessarily look like always being at church or committing your whole life to church ministry. It was awesome to show her how she could invite Jesus to her everyday. Please pray for her as she wrestles through if she truly believes in God and if she is willing to invite him into her everyday life! Thank you for enabling conversations like this to happen everyday on the university campus! Praise God!

Things to keep praying over:

Our health: we are both recovering from the flu and asking God for full healing!
For the over 240 students who have signed up for the conference: That they would be changed by it and come away loving Jesus more.
For the hearts of those exploring faith over the break, that they would still desire and want to know Jesus as they have a study break.

Thank you all again so much for your support and prayers! We hope you are able to get a glimpse through this email of the eternal impact your partnership makes!

In Christ,
Joshua and Jessica Peeters”

Update from Missionaries, Jessica & Joshua in New Zealand:

Happy Spring/Autumn!!

The weather is getting colder and wetter here in Auckland but we are so grateful that it has not limited the conversations we have been having! Thank you for all of your prayers and support over this last month. It has been so exciting seeing God work by answering our prayers. This update we would love to share with you all how our Autumn Retreat ‘Amped’ went and how we can be praying as a result.

Through our retreat we were able to see 117 students attend and 18 of them were exploring Christianity! We praise God for those numbers, It was a privilege for Jess to be in the exploring Christianity session during AMPED and see the amount of curious university students.

A big highlight from the AUT girls side was to see some of the new first year christian girls bonding with each other and getting to know each other more. It was exciting to see that community form in the context of them encouraging each other in their faith and in evangelism.

Last week we also ran a two day hot drink stall at the universities. We gave away coffee and hot chocolate, and were able to engage students in this question. “What is one question you would ask a Christian?” *picture below* We were also able to invite those curious to Alpha to explore more of Christianity!! We even had some students approach us asking “how do I sign up?” Very cool! Thank you so much for your prayers for this!

In the meantime, some ways you can be praying:
Alpha groups are running this week, please pray for attendees & for people to encounter Jesus.
Pray for our students who share their faith daily at Hour of Faith!
For people to come to know Jesus!

Thank you so much for your partnership! These conversations would not be possible without you. Let us know how we can be praying for you by replying to this email!

In Christ,
Jess and Josh Peeters

Today, Sherwood Community Chapel made a long overdue, heartfelt donation, to Hope Partnership. We say "long overdue", because our Church used to host our own Food Drive called "Harvest Home". Alas, in March 2020, our Church doors shut & did not reopen again until February 8th, 2022. Like many, our Church has been through much since the pandemic, including losing our beloved Pastor to covid. However, God has truly blessed us & this year, we are grateful to share we celebrated our 37th Anniversary of Sherwood Community Chapel. The Congregation wanted to give back for the years we were unable to hold our food drive. However, the number of our congregation declined due to some passing (it is primarily an older congregation) & some moving away. Rather than hold our Harvest Home Food Drive, we decided to find a charity that had a focus on the homeless in our community of Osceola County. Today, dear members of our Church met with Angie-who is the Chief Development Officer of Hope Partnership-to drop off the Church's donation. We sincerely hope this will help our community & those in need. Mark 12:31---"...Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these."

We "give with a grateful heart." God bless you, Hope Partnership! Thank you for all you do for our community!
