**Labor Day Weekend = One Extra Day!**

An extra day to sleep in.
An extra day for a cookout.
An extra day to soak up the end of summer.

So why not make **church part of the weekend too?**

If you’ve been thinking about coming to church, this is a great weekend to join us. Come as you are, grab some coffee, meet some people, and spend Sunday morning with us.

**Sunday at 10:00 AM | New Promise Church**

We’d love to see you this weekend—and don’t worry, you’ll still have plenty of Labor Day weekend left when we’re done!

Apparently today is World Beard Day… and when you have this much facial-hair excellence under one roof, it would feel irresponsible not to acknowledge it.

At New Promise Church, our beards come in all shapes and sizes: trimmed, majestic, Santa-level, and whatever category Pastor Nick’s is currently trying to qualify for.

So today, we salute the beards of New Promise.

Happy World Beard Day!

“It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭133‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We can’t make this up.

Yes. This is a real day.
Yes. There is actually a beard in the Bible verse.
Yes. We made a church post about it.
No. We have no regrets.

For those unable to grow a beard, you are still welcome at New Promise Church. Probably.

🚒 Our Local Fire Department Stopped By! 🏓

Last week, our local fire department stopped by New Promise Church for a routine walkthrough to familiarize themselves with our building and its layout so they’re prepared in the event of an emergency.

And somewhere along the way, they managed to squeeze in about 30 seconds of ping pong! 🏓

We loved having them stop by, and more importantly, we’re incredibly thankful for the men and women who serve and protect our community. Taking the time to learn buildings like ours is just one of the many ways they prepare to respond when they’re needed.

Thank you for all you do for our community! And next time you’re here, maybe we’ll give you enough time to finish a game. 😄

Are you responding to God’s warnings—or simply getting better at living with them?

In Exodus 9, Pharaoh receives warning after warning, yet his heart continues to harden. Each plague reveals God’s power, His patience, and the seriousness of resisting His word. This week, we’ll see that God’s warnings are not meant to be ignored—they are invitations to listen, repent, and worship Him before a hardened heart makes obedience even harder.

**If you’re thinking about coming to church this weekend, here’s what you can expect…**

You can expect real people, a welcoming atmosphere, coffee and donuts, worship, and a message straight from God’s Word.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to know what to wear. And you don’t have to know anyone before you walk through the doors.

These pictures are from this past Sunday—a morning full of worship, laughter, community, and food (we had a potluck!)

Come as you are. We’d love to meet you.

What a beautiful morning this past Saturday at **Planted, Not Buried!**

Our women gathered for a time of fellowship, encouragement, and a reminder that sometimes the seasons when we feel buried are actually the seasons when God is planting us for something new.

A special thank you to **Robin Nagle for sharing her story with us** and reminding us through her testimony of God’s faithfulness through every season.

We’re so thankful for every woman who came, served, shared, and helped make this morning so special. May we continue to stay rooted in Christ, trust His timing, and grow wherever He has planted us.

FOUR BAPTISMS. ONE EMPTY BAPTISMAL TANK. ONE SUNDAY WE WON’T FORGET!

This past Sunday, we celebrated four baptisms—the first time in many years in our church building instead of at Lake Erie!

Things didn’t quite go according to plan. Partway through the service, Pastor Nick turned around and discovered that our pre-heated baptismal tank had completely drained!

Thankfully, one of our Sunday School teachers felt prompted to bring the kids into service early, which caught Nick’s attention and caused him to turn around—just in time to discover the empty tank!

So we refilled it, rearranged the service on the fly, and four brave people were baptized in some VERY cold water! Four people publicly declared their faith in Jesus Christ, and God was glorified through it all!

What a Sunday!

**What happens when the things we trust in fail us?**

In Exodus 8, Egypt is overrun with frogs as Pharaoh continues to resist God’s command to let His people go. But this strange plague is about more than frogs—it is a direct confrontation between the one true God and the false gods of Egypt.

As the frogs invade every part of Egyptian life, God exposes the weakness of what Egypt trusted in and reveals His unmatched authority. And yet, even after experiencing God’s power firsthand, Pharaoh continues to harden his heart.

This week, we’ll see how God exposes the things we put our trust in, why counterfeit power always falls short, and the danger of recognizing God’s authority without actually surrendering to Him.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, our sermon ran longer than usual. The recording was only scheduled until 11:25 and cut off before the baptisms—but THEY happened! Pictures coming soon!
