East Texas Baptist Encampment has sustained damage from high winds.

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." John 16:33

The winds that struck our friends at Genesis Baptist Church - Buna TX have also done damage to our friend East Texas Baptist Encampment. The Lodge at ETBE has had portions of the metal roof stripped and is needing volunteers to assist in the temporal and future repairs.

Are you able to be of assistance? J.R. McDonald (Pastor, Fairdale Baptist Church) is coordinating efforts at ETBE.

Please the church family of Genesis Baptist Church - Buna TX in your prayers this evening. They suffered some damage from a freakish tornado, that at this time seems to have only caused damage to the fellowship hall and out building at the church. If needs are assessed that sister churches can help with, we will be sharing that soon.

Praise the Lord, from what we know now, no one at the church or community were hurt.

Bro. David was a special blessing to the Sabine Neches Baptist Area. He was the Pastor Emeritus at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper after serving as its pastor for 25 years, also previously as pastor at FBC Spurger for 11 years when he came to our area around 40 years ago.
Serving as Moderator of both New Bethel and Sabine Valley and long time member of the Area Committee he influenced the mission and ministry of the association. He was a ready champion and encourager to young pastors in the area; and loved to “stir the pot” and “stretch our Biblical minds together” around deep theological discussions.
He believed in stewardship. He always desired for God’s resources to do the most good, and believed that the local body church did the most good when it supported mission work outside its walls and geography. He is and will be greatly missed!
Please pray for Mrs. Vickie; for his children (Holly and John) and their families. All those who knew Bro. David will miss him, but all of the same delight in his presence with the Lord that he glorified and to whom he lived his life.

Unfortunate CANCELLATION OF IGNITE

Dear SNBA Pastors and Church Leaders,

After careful consideration, we have made the decision to cancel the SNBA Ignite Conference scheduled for this Saturday, August 8.

This is a particularly busy season for many of our churches and school families, and the timing of this year’s conference has made it difficult for several of our usual ministry partners to participate. Rather than move forward with an event that may not serve our churches as effectively as we intended, we believe it is best to honor the time and commitments of our pastors, leaders, and volunteers.

We remain committed to providing meaningful training and encouragement for the churches of the Sabine Neches Baptist Area, and we will continue looking for the right opportunities and timing to gather our leaders together. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest, registered, helped prepare, or encouraged others to attend.

We sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this change may cause, and we are grateful for your understanding and continued partnership in ministry.

Our vision trip to the Navajo Nation is complete, but the impact it left on us is just beginning.

What a blessing it was to have 15 of us, representing 9 different churches, come together with one shared purpose: to simply see where God is already moving and ask how we can walk alongside the beautiful people we met.

We are so grateful for the new friendships formed and for the ways this trip opened our eyes to the vibrant spirit of the Navajo community. Thank you for your prayers and for being part of this journey with us!
