Rector Hall at the Antioch Baptist Church. Pastor Gregory Wilson Jones, was the first and founding pastor of the True Vision Church. He resigned in January of 1994 to work on an advanced degree at the American Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee. Kenneth Kemp, the present pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas, was officially called as Interim Pastor of the True Vision Church

in March of 1994. Kemp remained until June 1995, when he was given orders to report to North Carolina to continue his military career. In the interim of finding another pastor, Rev. Michael Steve Brown came to preach as well as other ministers in San Antonio. In June 1995, the Lord sent Rev. Douglas Landrum to be the new Pastor. His tenure was until December 1996. On the first Sunday of January 1997, the Rev. Michael Steve Brown came back to our church family to preach for us and conduct Bible studies. He served as Interim Pastor until March. In April of 1997, we asked Rev. Brown if he would become our Pastor. He accepted the Call of the Lord and became our new Pastor. We installed Rev. Brown in August 1997. TVC is now worshiping as a “One Church, Two Locations” fellowship in both Northeast and Northwest San Antonio. In 2008 TVC acquired 35 acres of land to be the new home of the Northeast campus. Plans are now being made to erect a multipurpose facility in phases to accommodate the growing membership of TVC.

JULY 18

THE POWER OF HIS WORD

The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18

Have you experienced the power of God's Word in your life? Have you seen how the Father uses it to sustain your soul and transform your life? It's not only when He heals a disease or provides for your needs in a supernatural way that He's active on your behalf. Often the greatest miracles He does involve breaking you free of strongholds and destructive behaviors.

However, realize that God releases His miraculous truth in your life not only to liberate you but also as a testimony to those who don't know Him. Your unsaved loved ones see the Savior's power in your life and it inspires them to believe in Jesus and be saved

So as you spend time in Scripture and faithfully testify of God's love, look for ways He exhibits His power in your life. Ask the Father to use you mightily as His representative to those around you. And then watch as He uses His Word to work miraculously through you.

Jesus, use Your Word powerfully in my life and help me be a faithful witness of Your saving love, amen.

In His presence... allow His Word to work powerfully.

THE REQUIREMENTS

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." MATTHEW 5:16

When you feel inadequate to serve God or carry out His commands, remember that what He expects of you is different from what you think. You may believe He is looking for charisma, persuasiveness, and a brilliant mind. But what He really requires is: Sensitivity to the Spirit. Be attentive and obedient to His
promptings.

Service, Humbly glorify Him and edify others rather than pro-
mote yourself. Sacrifice. Pour yourself out for His name's sake rather than
what you can attain.

Self-denial. Seek His kingdom and goals instead of your own.
Suffering. Follow Him obediently even when it means pain and persecution, knowing that you are serving His eternal purposes.

In other words, the Savior wants to use your life as a platform for His power. So when He calls, don't worry about whether you're smart, talented, or beautiful enough. Just obey Him whole-heartedly. He will surely magnify Himself through you.

Lord, thank You for choosing me to serve You. May my life glorify You in every way, amen.

In His presence... reflect His glory.

JULY 14

READY TO CHANGE

Do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy. 1 PETER 1:14-15

Do you sense something in your life needs to change? Are there areas that simply aren’t working? Are you willing to say, “Lord, I want to exalt You. I’ve had enough of my own way – I want to live by Yours”?

If so, ask God to identify the areas where your sinful, self-centered, and struggling rather than Christ-centered and victorious. Whatever He brings to mind, acknowledge that He is right and make the decision to turn from your ways. He will show you how as you read Scripture.

As He reveals principles from His Word, apply them to your life-even when they don’t completely make sense-and trust Him to bless your obedience.

Answer all of the questions, dilemmas, and challenges you encounter with this: “Lord Jesus, what would You have me do? I want to obey You.” Not only will doing so transform your life, it will build the most wonderful, profound, and indescribable intimacy between you and the Savior.

Jesus, please reveal if there’s anything in my life that displeases You. Show me the way I should go-I want to obey You, amen.

In His presence … allow Him to transform you.

SILENCE IN MEDITATION

Guard your steps as you go to the house of God and draw near to listen. ECCLESIASTES 5:1

When you pray, do you do all the talking? To have God speak to your heart is an awesome experience—one you may miss if you monopolize the conversation and never pause to listen.

But when you remain quiet, the Lord will transform you, changing how you think and conforming you to His ways. How does He do so? He may remind you of an important passage of Scripture, reveal a biblical truth for you to apply, expose unconfessed sin, or bring someone to mind that needs your ministry. In other words, He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:6).

This is why it is so important for you to sit before Him in silence and allow Him to pour Himself into you. He will reveal His will and bring peace to your inner being.

Friend, sitting before God allows Him to speak to your heart clearly, positively, and unmistakably—showing you what to do.
You will know that the Lord has truly spoken to you-and that's the definition of life at its very best.

Lord, I will remain silent and listen for Your voice. Speak to me, Father. Your servant is listening, amen.

In His presence ... be silent and give Him time to respond.

JULY 12

A PRAYER OF DIRECTION

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you. PSALM 25:5 NIV

The Father has given you the powerful gift of choice-the ability to select the direction of your life. In fact, every day you'll face a continuous series of options-some that honor the Lord and others that don't. Some that lead to His abundant life and others that divert you away from it to destruction.

One of the most powerful, life-changing decisions you can make is to invite God to guide you-trusting that everything He allows in your life is for the purpose of building your character and bringing you into His freedom.

Friend, God's plan for you is unquestionably the best. The question is: Will you allow Him to direct you? If so, pray: Lord, change me and work through me in any way You please. I believe that You will form Your character in me, shape me into Your likeness through my circumstances, and lead me to life at its best.
Thank You, dear Jesus, amen.

Lord, thank You for replacing my misery with Your joy, my fears with faith, my weaknesses with Your strength, and my selfish ways with grateful devotion to You, amen.

In His presence... trust Him with your life.

JULY 11

CONFORMING TO THE TRUTH

Whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ROMANS 8:29 NKJV

God wants to conform each of His children to the likeness of His image. He does this by revealing Himself through His Word. As we are confronted with the truth about His character, we have a choice: refuse to adapt to God's mold, or yield to Him and be fashioned into His likeness. But as we accept His Lordship, submit to Him, and apply His Word to our lives, He liberates us and reveals His glory through us.

Friend, you are called to listen to the Father in order to comprehend His ways and be shaped and conformed to His truth. God doesn't speak just to entertain you; He communicates so you can be more like Jesus.

So today, consider, are you resisting being conformed by God, or are you being shaped and molded by His truth? Commit yourself not to merely hearing His Word but to obeying it. Do not simply allow Scripture to enter your eyes, but take hold of it so it will rule your heart.

Lord, teach me to hear and embrace Your Word so that I may be fashioned to Your likeness, amen.

In His presence... conform to His truth.

JULY 10

THE POWER OF THE WORD

Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word. EPHESIANS 5:25-26 NLT

Do you ever avoid reading the Bible because it makes you uncomfortable? Certainly God often works through His Word to reveal the areas of your heart He wants to heal-and that's not always easy (Hebrews 4:12). But Scripture is crucial for the well-being of your soul. The Holy Spirit speaks through it to help you move ahead spiritually, emotionally, and relationally.

Of course, you may be tempted to skip reading God's Word or dismiss what it says because it contradicts how you think. But don't. The Father does His greatest transformational work in you as you meditate on His truth (Romans 12:2).

So if you have any desire for God; any yearning for healing; any longing for a life of meaning, hope, and joy—then open Scripture, drink in its life-giving words, and do as it says. Not only does the Lord understand who you are, He will help you see how your life can be more fulfilling, healthy, and significant.

Lord, transform me according to Your wonderful, supernatural, life-giving Word. I want to know You and the abundant life You offer, amen.

In His presence... allow His Word to transform you

JULY 9

YOUR LIVING HOPE

We have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior. 1 TIMOTHY 4:10

You have a living hope in Jesus Christ. Take this truth to heart today-though all around you appears desperate and your dreams seem to have perished. No matter the present circumstances, you can take courage in the knowledge that your Savior is the triumphant Warrior who has defeated your every foe (Revelation 17:14). He helps you and will continue to fight for you regardless of what circumstances arise.

This is the strength and joy of your Christian life—it is always possible to live above the present because your future is secure. You have an incorruptible inheritance, an unwavering Defender, and your God's unfailing love. But you must choose to believe His promises (2 Corinthians 1:20).

So if you've experienced loss, do not despair. This defeat is only for the moment and what is truly important can never be taken from you. Focus on your living hope. Set your eyes on Jesus, your Lord and Savior, and expect Him to lead you to victory.

Lord Jesus, You are a mighty Warrior, my triumphant Savior, and my Living Hope. You never fail. Help me cling to you now and forever, amen.

In His presence... allow Him to restore your hope.
