True Vision Church began in February 1993 as a gathering of 70 committed Christians in the W. I. Rev.
(519)

Rector Hall at the Antioch Baptist Church. Pastor Gregory Wilson Jones, was the first and founding pastor of the True Vision Church. He resigned in January of 1994 to work on an advanced degree at the American Baptist College in Nashville, Tennessee. Kenneth Kemp, the present pastor of the Antioch Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas, was officially called as Interim Pastor of the True Vision Church

in March of 1994. Kemp remained until June 1995, when he was given orders to report to North Carolina to continue his military career. In the interim of finding another pastor, Rev. Michael Steve Brown came to preach as well as other ministers in San Antonio. In June 1995, the Lord sent Rev. Douglas Landrum to be the new Pastor. His tenure was until December 1996. On the first Sunday of January 1997, the Rev. Michael Steve Brown came back to our church family to preach for us and conduct Bible studies. He served as Interim Pastor until March. In April of 1997, we asked Rev. Brown if he would become our Pastor. He accepted the Call of the Lord and became our new Pastor. We installed Rev. Brown in August 1997. TVC is now worshiping as a “One Church, Two Locations” fellowship in both Northeast and Northwest San Antonio. In 2008 TVC acquired 35 acres of land to be the new home of the Northeast campus. Plans are now being made to erect a multipurpose facility in phases to accommodate the growing membership of TVC.

YOUR HIGH CALLING

Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you. COLOSSIANS 4:17 NLT

Do you find God must constantly prod you to keep growing in your faith? Or perhaps you've progressed in your relationship with Him, but there's not much fruit and you wonder what's going on?

If so, then it may be that the Lord has called you to serve Him in a specific way, but you've refused. It's possible that you're not using your gifts to honor Him, or you are ministering in areas that make you feel comfortable rather than really obeying what He's asked you to do.

Friend, you may have your own goals, but remember, the highest, most wonderful purpose you can embrace is to faithfully carry out whatever He specifically created you to do (Ephesians 2:10).

Those who follow Him in such a way encounter adversity, yes, but they also experience the power of the Holy Spirit-for guidance, faith, hope, and strength when doing the Father's will.

That is life at its very best. So don't settle for anything less. Be sure to carry out the ministry He gives you.

Lord, where would You have me serve You? What did You create me to do? Lead me-I will obey and glorify You, amen.

In His presence … discover all you were created for.

YOUR UNASSAILABLE SALVATION

It is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving), but it is the gift of God. EPHESIANS 2:8 AMP

Remember this today whenever you doubt your relationship with the Father: the enemy knows that if he can convince you that your salvation is vulnerable, he can render you discouraged and ineffective. Any thoughts and feelings you have that God is mad at you or no longer loves you are the evil one's lies. Do not listen to him!

Your salvation has never been based on your own goodness or how you feel. Rather, it has always been unfalteringly founded on Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. As a forgiven, beloved child of the living God, your position is safe, unassailable, and sure for eternity.

Friend, do not allow the enemy to discourage you. Stand on the fact of your salvation and the perfect provision of your wonderful Savior.

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Redeemer, loving me unconditionally, and saving me permanently. I praise You, my all-sufficient and unassailable Savior! Amen.

In His presence... give thanks that your salvation is eternally secure.

OVERCOMING MOUNTAINS

Every while shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low… And the glory of the Lord will be revealed. ISAIAH 40:4-5 NIV

When you face a mountain in your life, you have a choice: be overwhelmed or be energized because you know the Savior will reveal Himself in a profound way to you.
Of course, your first thought may be, If I were really in God's will, I wouldn't be facing obstacles-especially ones this enormous. But that is not so. You have an enemy who will oppose you whenever he sees the Lord doing anything great through you. You can be in the center of God's plan, doing exactly as He says, and encounter a mount of opposition.

But don't focus on the mountain, friend. Look at almighty God who loves and provides for you. He can handle the troubles before you with ease (Matthew 21:21). And if you respond correctly-with faith—your relationship with Him will grow stronger and He will be glorified.

So don't give up! Look to God and trust Him. You'll be amazed at how He levels the mountain before you.

Lord, thank You for taking care of the mountain before me – it is nothing to You. I praise You, my savior! Amen.

In His presence … watch for the savior’s deliverance.

STOP, LOOK, LISTEN

My Soul waits in silence for God only; for Him is my salvation PSALM 62:1

Growing up, I recall hearing my first-grade teacher remind us repeatedly to stop, look, and listen before crossing railroad tracks. That was before we had flashing red lights, warning bells, and those long arms that swing down and block entry onto the rails.
Of course her purpose for this caution was our safety. But through the years, I've often pondered the wisdom of her words. No doubt our impulse to hurry-rather than fully assess a situation-can harm us terribly. We have to be careful because with every passing year, it seems life accelerates a bit more.

So when you're in a rush, consider, "What am I missing by moving at such a pace?" By rushing through life, you may forfeit the best of what God has for you—the blessings of His presence, godly friendships and a strong family, and—worst of all —His will.

Do not make that mistake. Stop by waiting in His presence. Look for His activity and leading. And listen for His direction.

Lord, I will stop, look, and listen for Your instruction. Thank You for keeping me safe and leading me to life at its very best, amen.

In His Presence … wait for Him to lead you.

FOR THE LORD

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord, you will receive the reward. Collisions 3:23-24

Are you being called upon to make challenging sacrifices? There are times when you may be required to take on jobs or responsibilities that are difficult or you deem "beneath you," and you may be tempted to nurse a bad attitude. But don't. Right now there's nothing more victorious you can do than to give your best effort for the Lord.

Friend, your mind-set about what you have to do makes a tremendous difference-directly affecting your task now, but also impacting eternity. Why? Because one day you will stand in the presence of Jesus and be judged for what you've done and how you honored Him in what He gave you to accomplish.

Keep this in mind as you go about your day. You may have many unpleasant responsibilities to take care of, but do them joyfully for God, knowing that He will reward your loving obedience.

That change in perspective alone will make all the difference in your day—and also in eternity.

Lord, whatever I'm called to do, I will do it joyfully and with excellence, knowing I am serving You, amen.

In His presence ... do everything for His glory.

EAGLE-LIKE FOCUS

Those who wait for the Lord a new strength; they shall mount up with the wings like eagles. ISAIAH 40:31

Seeking and obeying God can be difficult, especially in a world that is often adversarial to believers. So when you're tired of the battles and just want some peace, what do you do? Do you give in? Compromise? Or do you find your strength in your Creator?
Scripture is clear—if you want to soar, you must take your eyes off of what everyone else is doing and focus on the Father. The eagle is the perfect example. When fish come into view, eagles train their sights on their targets with amazing intensity.

Regardless of wind currents or weather, they sweep in with power and precision-their mighty talons successfully gathering their prize.

In a sense, this is your goal as a believer—to set your full focus on God. He gives you the strength, precision, and perseverance so you can continue flying and receive your reward (1 Corinthians 9:27).

So when you're weary, remember to train your sights on the Father. With Him, the victory is always in view.

Lord, I wait on You. Give me Your energy, strength, and focus so I can continue to obey You, amen.

In His presence... gain strength to persevere.

THANKFUL ALWAYS

I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart. Psalm 9:1

If you desire to have deep and lasting joy, it's important for you to develop an attitude of appreciation. You must decide to see the good in situations and choose to be thankful regardless of what goes wrong.

So begin right now by counting your blessings. Think about what it cost Jesus to have a relationship with you. Be grateful for the amazing forgiveness He's given-pardoning your sins past, present, and future.

Meditate on your wonderful God, who would never leave or forsake you, but loves, protects, and provides for you always. Consider the Holy Spirit, your Advocate in all that concerns you. He empowers you to serve successfully and gives you all you need for life and godliness.

Finally, consider the wonderful plans God has for you and all the loved ones He's given you to share your life with.

Friend, you have so much to be grateful for. Surely the Lord is worthy of your praise. So worship God and give Him thanks in every situation. Because you're a child of God and truly, "praise is becoming to the upright" (Psalm 33:1).

Lord, 1 am so grateful for You! Thank You for loving me and making me Your own, amen.

In His presence... give thanks and praise Him.
