🔥 What a morning at Westminster.

The Spirit showed up — wind, fire, and a whole lot of song. We celebrated Pentecost with the gift of the Holy Spirit, Holy Communion, and the incredible gift of guest musician Paul Saik joining Rev. Barry Templeton and the Westminster Choir. It was a Sunday we won't forget.

Tomorrow is a big day for many students in our church and county as EOG testing begins, and we invite our church family and community to join us in lifting all of these students up in prayer.

To all of our 3rd–5th graders: take a deep breath, trust in yourself, and remember that God is with you every step of the way. You have worked hard, and we are already so proud of you.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Please join us in praying for calm hearts, clear minds, confidence, focus, and peace for every student, teacher, and school staff member tomorrow. No test could ever measure the kindness, worth, or incredible purpose God has placed inside each child.

Good luck to all of our students! Your church family is cheering you on and praying for you!

Voyages Day Camp is already halfway full, and spots are going FAST! If your child has completed 1st–4th grade, now is the time to sign up before we reach capacity. ☀️⛵

This is a week kids look forward to all summer long filled with laughter, friendships, faith, games, hands on activities, music, water fun, and unforgettable memories. Every day brings something exciting, and it’s the perfect place for kids to grow in confidence, build friendships, and simply enjoy being kids.

In observance of Memorial Day, our church office will be closed on Monday, May 25th. We pray you and your families have a blessed, safe weekend as we pause to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

This Sunday we welcome a special guest to our pulpit — Kim Rice Smith, Sound District Lay Leader for the NC Conference of The United Methodist Church.
Kim will be preaching at our 10 AM Pentecost Sunday worship from Hebrews 4 and 1 Corinthians 13 in a message titled "Yada Yada Yada."
Yada is the Hebrew word for deep, covenantal knowing — the kind of knowing where God doesn't just know about you, but knows you fully, intimately, and by name. That's worth showing up for.
Pentecost Sunday. 10 AM. This Sunday, May 24.

This morning, 10 of the ladies of our church gathered together to prepare chicken salad and pimento cheese sandwiches for our preschool graduation celebration this evening.

One of the sweetest things about church family is that worship and fellowship don’t only happen in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Sometimes they happen around a kitchen counter, while spreading pimento cheese, sharing laughter, and serving others with love.

We are so thankful for hearts willing to serve and for the beautiful community God continues to build here at Westminster.

What would you do if Jesus showed up at a funeral?

In Luke 7, a widow is burying her only son — her last hope, her only future. No one asked Jesus to stop. No one made a request. He simply saw her. And moved with compassion, he crossed the threshold between life and death and gave her son back.

That's not just a miracle story. That's a picture of what compassion looks like when it's rooted in the heart of Christ.

Tomorrow night, both Jesus is Lord study groups gather together as we explore Session 5: Compassion — what it is, what it costs, and where it comes from when we've given everything we have.

🎓✨ It's a celebratory week at Westminster Preschool! We're excited to welcome families for our Preschool Graduation, honoring our four-year-olds as they complete this special chapter and step toward the adventures ahead.

🚙 Street parking is available on Westminster Lane, Carey Road, Cameron Road, and Margaret Lane.
