iples confess their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and seek unity among all. What to Expect:
- Worship would best be described as traditional, i.e., hymns, prayers, a biblical sermon, and the celebration of Holy Communion (the bread and individual cups are passed out in the pews).
- Holy Communion and baptism are open to all who feel called to follow Christ. Baptism occurs once in a person’s life, usually by immersion in our denomination (but we do not rebaptize those baptized as infants). Communion occurs weekly and is open to all followers of Christ.
- Children are invited to come to the front of the sanctuary for a Children’s Moment, followed by an extended session in the educational building (“Children’s Church”) led by adult volunteers.
- A nursery is provided for toddlers and infants by professional attendants.
- We Disciples worship with heart and mind, which is to say, “Your faith and questions are both welcome here.”
- Hospitality is something that we work hard at. You will be made to feel welcome regardless of race, gender, income, education, or social standing.
- Like many churches, you will find Christian education classes, youth groups, fellowship meals, outreach projects, and other opportunities for spiritual growth and service.
