Faith That Keeps the Doors Open, by Pastor St Christopher Taylor

Last Friday morning, after prayer, studying, and getting myself together, I sat on my front steps just thinking. Thinking about how the Church I Pastor has been there for so many people in this community. Thinking about how times have changed—government decisions shifting the economy, folks struggling to give like they used to. Even I felt it. My own ability to give as usual was affected.

And as I sat there, I felt something heavy trying to pull at my faith, trying to make me question if GOD was really going to carry us through. But deep down, I know, our GOD didn’t bring us this far to leave us now.

I drove to the Church, and the phone started ringing. Members asking, “Pastor, are we gonna reach our goal?” And I told them the only thing I could: The LORD will make a way.

By the end of the day, we held hands in prayer, thanking GOD that Macedonia Church and our Community Center, The Alley, will keep on providing for individuals and families in need. And I thanked GOD for the ones He touched to give.

But here’s what the Spirit showed me: just because you’re up today, doesn’t mean you’ll be up tomorrow. Just because you have today, doesn’t mean you’ll have tomorrow. And some of us need to sit with that. And if you didn’t give, ask yourself—was it a lack of faith, or a lack of love?

For every testimony, there is a test. I thought GOD was just testing my faith. But then GOD revealed the lesson, it was a reminder of what Jesus said: I will never leave you nor forsake you. To those who gave, thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus Who showed up right on time.

A reminder to those who believe. Don’t ever lose your trust in the LORD GOD. GOD always makes a way, and HE is an on-time GOD!

We Need You Right Now

Today, I have to be honest – our needs are great and our funding is nearly depleted. We’re standing at a critical crossroads. Without immediate support, several of our life-changing programs are at risk of closing.

If that happens, it's not just a building that goes dark. It means:

• A mother who can’t find food for her child.
• A teenager slipping through the cracks.
• A grieving family left without support.
• One of our elders left without a hot meal.

We can't let that happen, and we can’t do it alone. Together, we can keep hope alive.

Our sanctuaries have served as places of refuge, healing, and spiritual empowerment. But today, the need is not only within the walls of the Church; it is in the streets, the neighborhoods, the schools, the jails, and the broken homes. Our calling does not end at the benediction on Sunday. It extends into the very places where the enemy is sowing destruction and death.
