With deep sadness Cowan Chapel UMC announces the Homegoing Celebration of our First Lady, Mrs. Ida Mae Guthrie. Family and friends will celebrate her life on Wednesday, August 28th beginning at 9:00A.M.—11:00A.M for receiving of friends, with the service following at 11:00A.M., Spring City Methodist Church, 245 Church Street, Spring City, Tennessee 37381. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery in Spring City.

On behalf of Cowan Chapel United Methodist Church, Guthrie family know you are in our prayers. We celebrate First Lady Ida’s life and legacy with you. When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!

Please join us this Sunday to support Wisdom and Briana. Briana will offer praise through liturgical dance. So very proud of our young adults!

Join us for Youth Sunday on August 11th at 11:30 AM Eastern time, where the youth will lead the morning service. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Wisdom Martin, a young adult member of Cowan Chapel United Methodist Church in Kingston, TN.

Wisdom, who is entering his 8th year in collegiate basketball with stops at Bryan College, Middle Tennessee State and currently Johnson, enjoys sharing his faith and coaching young people. His favorite Bible verse is Galatians 6:9: "Let us not grow weary in well doing for at a proper time we shall reap a harvest if we do not give up."

All are invited and welcome to attend, we are located at 220 Raccoon Valley Road, Powell, TN. Minister Carol Price-Guthrie is the pastor.

Cowan Chapel UMC will host its annual Homecoming, this Sunday, July 16 at 11 AM and 3 PM. Rev. Gary Atwater and New Century UMC will conduct the morning service. Rev. Paul Taylor will be the speaker for the afternoon service. Cowan Chapel and friends will provide the afternoon worship music.
