St. James is often called “The Green Church That Helps!” We are a growing, vital congregation made up of a diverse group of people of all ages, from all walks of life. We celebrate our enormous opportunity to both love those in the church and those outside our walls, as Jesus asks us to do. We emphasize working with children, serving and serving alongside our neighbors, inviting others to make a positive difference, and welcoming all who want to worship God. The purpose of the St. James United Methodist Church is to “bear witness to the community and to the world that the Word of God is Alive through worship, Christ-centered education, nurture, fellowship, and sharing our gifts and service.”
Our Staff:
We’re blessed to have a wonderful full-time pastor, a full-time director of community ministries, a part-time director of children and youth ministries, and a deacon. Reverend Robert Milsom has been our pastor since 2017, and is here to welcome, lead us in worship, nurture and growth as a beloved community in Christ. Deacon David Clegg is a lawyer and divinity school graduate. He works with both pastors on issues of injustice, is part of numerous charities in the community, he coaches basketball, and teaches Bible studies. Director of Children and Youth Ministry Rebecca Leibowitz works with the church to provide a safe sanctuary for children to experience spirituality through Godly Play storytelling, Messy Church, fellowship, and service projects.
