Unitarian Universalism is a liberal religion born of the Jewish and Christian traditions. We keep our minds open to the religious questions people have struggled with in all times and places. We believe that personal experience, conscience, and reason should be the final authorities in religion. The First Parish Church in Kingston is a dynamic group of human beings of all ages who have come togeth

er to share our individual spiritual journeys toward wholeness and greater understanding, to deal with the mysteries of our common existence, and to make a positive difference in the world, for ourselves and our families, for our community in Southeastern Massachusetts, and in the interdependent web of all beings. Throughout our existence, and as an article of our faith, Unitarian Universalists have evolved through a democratic process to become a non-creedal, inclusive progressive religious community. We are intentionally welcoming of all ethnicities and identities, and individuals and families of all descriptions, adults, youth, and children, who seek to promote health and wholeness in themselves and the world.

THIS Sunday, May 24th at 10:30am - Lessons from the Tao
Guest Speaker, Normand Grenier

Today we will explore the ancient Chinese wisdom found in the works of Lao Tzu, from the Tao Te Ching. The Taoist way of thinking offers a radical departure from our usual western modes of thought. Images like the enduring value of emptiness and the surprising efficacy of inaction can sound very strange to us. Can we learn something from this approach? As unitarians we affirm the value of all religions, and today's approach will offer us a unique challenge and opportunity.

We pray for the victims’ families and communities surrounding the Islamic Center of San Diego in Claremont CA after yesterday’s horrific shooting.

Violence against any religious body is violence against all our of our rights to believe and worship freely in this country.

We side with love and commit to work for an end to gun violence, religious intolerance and hatred.
