The congregations of the Arcadia and Pactolus UMC charge are truly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of the Rev Kim Isley Selby yesterday. Kim served just up the road from Arcadia at Vermont United Methodist Church.

Kim will be remembered for all the work she has done as a pastor, a mother, a wife, and a friend. Over the course of over 30 years, she served numerous churches in Holston.

To her immediate family and her church family, please know that you all are in our prayers today. May God's grace and love ease your heart and leave you only with the memories of the journey you've shared.

In your mercy, Lord: hear our prayers.

Beginning July 1, Arcadia United Methodist Church will begin a new chapter with a new pastor and a new charge partnership.

We are truly excited to welcome the Reverend Lauri Jo Cranford to our church family. Rev. Cranford, an ordained elder and former district superintendent in the Holston Conference, brings a wealth of experience and a heart for ministry, and we are grateful she will be serving with us.

We are also delighted to be entering into a new charge with our neighbors at Hermon United Methodist Church, where Rev. Cranford has been faithfully serving for the past two years. We look forward with hope and anticipation to all that God will do through this new partnership.

At the same time, we give thanks for our time with Rev Jason Mullins and the people of Pactolus United Methodist Church. Over this past year, we have shared in ministry together and experienced the strength and blessing of connection in meaningful ways.

We look ahead with gratitude for what has been and hope for what is to come. More details coming soon!

On this day, Good Friday, we recall and feel the love of Christ Jesus for humanity. We remember that love is not a noun.

LOVE is a verb. Love pours itself out and gives of itself. LOVE humbles itself.

LOVE is an action. An action that is stronger than fear.

We invite you to join us tonight at 6 p.m. at Arcadia United Methodist Church, 3954 Bloomingdale Road in Kingsport, for the service of Good Friday. A service where we will remember that love Christ has given us.
