You don’t have to sit in the church pew to understand this truth — America’s Armed Forces are something extraordinary.

They are the most technologically advanced and tactically capable fighting force on the planet, but their real strength isn’t just found in jets, ships, satellites, or weapons systems. It’s found in the hearts of men and women who choose service over self, sacrifice over comfort, and duty over fear.

Every day, Americans put on a uniform knowing they may be called to stand between chaos and the innocent. They train harder, push farther, and carry burdens most people will never fully understand — not for fame, not for applause, but because they believe protecting others is worth the cost.

Scripture tells us, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” And whether they say it out loud or carry it quietly, that spirit lives inside our service members.

Yes, America leads the world in technology and tactical strength — but what truly sets our military apart is faith, courage, brotherhood, and an unshakable belief that freedom matters because people matter.

God has always used ordinary people willing to stand when others step back. Our Armed Forces are filled with those people — protectors, warriors, and servants walking a path of responsibility few are willing to take.

So whether you pray daily or haven’t prayed in years, take a moment today and thank God for those who stand watch while the rest of us sleep.
