Lunch club this Wednesday is at Mountain View at 11:00. Don't forget to set your clock ahead tonight for daylight savings time. There will not be any snow tonight so church will be at regular time tomorrow morning. If I am wrong you can catch a ride on Santa's sleigh.

I can't decide if Face Book is a blessing or a curse. Sometimes I get the best notes from people who I thought had forgotten about me and it really lifts my spirits. At other times I get strange stuff from who knows where and I wonder if the whole thing is demon possessed. And another thing, the darn thing cannot spell. Perhaps I am the only one that ever has these problems. My nephew calls it the great cesspool. He can't be but so wrong. After all, he is an Allen.

What ya doing Wednesday? We are proving ourselves to be down home folks. First we are having the lunch club at the Italian Garden at 11:00. (You will need your passport and some Tums) Then at prayer meeting we are having beans and cornbread with some of Leigh Ann's famous hot pepper relish. But these are no ordinary beans, no sir. These are cranberry beans. They are like pintos on steroids. Make you slap your mama. You will love them. If you don't know how to pray before eating them you will afterward. So show up and bring somebody with you.

How many of you keep a planner? I must confess that I am a bit OCD on this. I have one in my computer, a primary one on my desk big enough to record all of the world's events in and one in my shirt pocket so I am never caught by surprise. Well for those of you who are like me and those of you who just write things on the back of your hand, here's a date you don't want to miss, April 16th, Easter Sunday, which is close than you think, is a very special time at Penley's Chapel. The day starts at 7 AM with a Sun Rise Service. That is followed with a Fellowship Breakfast prepared by the Men's Bible Class at 7:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Then Sunday School is at 9:00 and the morning worship is at 10:00. Write it down and be there.

Lunch Club will be at Love's Fish Box next week, March 1st at 1:00. I realize that this is the first service of Lent but if we arrive on time we can eat and get out in time for church which will be hosted by Central United Methodist Church. There will be a modest lunch at the Lenten services if you had rather eat there and have the time. A suggested donation of $3.00 will be received for the lunch.

It looks like Layla may get to come home soon, GLORY! The family needs someone to put up a fence in the yard so they move the animals outside. If you know someone who can help on this project please let me know. Layla really wants to get home.

Crystal sent us a wonderful report on Layla. She is breathing on her own pretty much all the time now. In addition to gaining weight (she gets that from her Pastor) she can be held and rocked. I don't know how much weight she has gained because you just don't ask a girl such a question as that. She also sent a picture but alas I don't know how to put that on Facebook. Anyhow, Crystal and Jason ask that we continue to pray for Layla. That was silly because we never stopped.

Today's Lunch Club was awesome! We had a great time and solved all the world's problems. Now for the biggie...where to go for next week? Hearing no objections, we will head out to Mr. B's Diner (formerly Rhonda's Kitchen in Grover). I hope everyone can make it. That will be at 11:00 on Wednesday.

Okay, this is truly sickening. The radicals in the entertainment industry have gone too far. Their calling our president a N**I and naming him Hi**er is not protesting it is anti- American. But that is not the really sickening part. What is really disgusting is those people who claim to be Christians but still pay to go to the movies that these people play in, watch these actors and actresses on TV, and support those companies who support them by purchasing their products after they advertise on their shows. At our house we have boycotted Kellogg and started eating Post Raisin Bran. (Just one example) The only reason that those other people support the liberal anti-American actors and still come to church is that they are waiting for the chance to stab Christians in the back. 1st John tells us we will be held accountable for who we support.
