π WORLD VS WORD
βBe Not Conformed to This World, But Be Transformed by the Renewing of Your Mindβ
π Romans 12:2 (KJV)
π― INTRODUCTION
The Christian life is a daily conflict between the WORLD'S SYSTEM and GOD'S SCRIPTURES. In the Dispensational truth, believers today are members of the Body of Christ, seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), and are called to walk according to the revelation given through the Apostle Paul (Romans 16:25).
The world says, "Follow your heart."
The Word says, "Follow Christ."
The world promotes self.
The Word promotes the Savior.
Today we will examine seven contrasts between the WORLD and the WORD.
1οΈβ£ FEELINGS OR FAITH?
The World Chases Feelings β The Word Chooses Faith
π 2 Corinthians 5:7
"For we walk by faith, not by sight."
A. Feelings Change
π Jeremiah 17:9
B. Faith Continues
π Romans 10:17
C. Feelings Confuse
π Colossians 2:8
Dispensational Truth:
God never instructed the Body of Christ to live by emotions but by the revealed truth of Paul's gospel.
2οΈβ£ SELF OR SAVIOR?
The World Prioritizes Self β The Word Prefers the Savior
π Philippians 1:21
A. Self Seeks Glory
π Romans 1:25
B. Christ Seeks Growth
π Colossians 2:19
C. Grace Produces Humility
π Ephesians 3:8
Dispensational Truth:
The believer's identity is not found in self-esteem but in being "in Christ."
3οΈβ£ TEMPORARY OR TREASURES?
The World Loves Temporary Things β The Word Loves Eternal Treasures
π Colossians 3:2
A. Earthly Things Perish
π 1 Corinthians 7:31
B. Heavenly Things Profit
π Philippians 3:20
C. Eternal Things Prevail
π 2 Corinthians 4:18
Dispensational Truth:
Our citizenship is heavenly, not earthly. We are looking for Christ, not a kingdom on earth.
4οΈβ£ BEAUTY OR BEING CHRISTLIKE?
The World Praises Physical Beauty β The Word Promotes Spiritual Beauty
π Galatians 4:19
A. Outward Beauty Fades
π Proverbs 31:30
B. Inward Beauty Flourishes
π Colossians 3:12
C. Christlikeness Glorifies
π Romans 8:29
Dispensational Truth:
God's purpose today is conformity to Christ, not conformity to culture.
5οΈβ£ SIN OR SANCTIFICATION?
The World Is Entertained by Sin β The Word Encourages Separation
π Romans 6:1-2
A. Sin Corrupts
π Romans 6:23
B. Grace Teaches
π Titus 2:11-12
C. Holiness Testifies
π 2 Timothy 2:21
Dispensational Truth:
Grace is not a license to sin; grace teaches godly living.
6οΈβ£ APPROVAL OR ACCEPTANCE?
The World Seeks Human Approval β The Word Seeks God's Approval
π Galatians 1:10
A. Men Are Unstable
π Proverbs 29:25
B. God's Judgment Matters
π 1 Corinthians 4:3-4
C. Approved Workers Study
π 2 Timothy 2:15
Dispensational Truth:
The believer's goal is not popularity but divine approval through rightly dividing the Word.
7οΈβ£ CULTURE OR CHRIST?
The World Follows Culture β The Word Follows Scripture
π Colossians 2:8
A. Culture Constantly Changes
π Isaiah 40:8
B. Scripture Permanently Stands
π 2 Timothy 3:16-17
C. Truth Continually Sanctifies
π John 17:17
Dispensational Truth:
Doctrine must never bow to trends. The Scriptures rightly divided remain our final authority.
π₯ CONCLUSION
The world and the Word are moving in opposite directions.
The world says:
Follow your feelings.
Promote yourself.
Enjoy sin.
Follow culture.
The Word says:
Walk by faith.
Exalt Christ.
Flee sin.
Follow Scripture.
π Romans 12:2
The believer must choose daily whether he will be shaped by the world or transformed by the Word.
