GOOD MORNING! SEPTEMBER 6, 2026 UPDATE:

We will gather this morning at 10AM for our Sunday hybrid worship held in the VFPC Sanctuary and via Zoom (link below). For the Summer, we consider how the truth telling of the Hebrew prophets shaped the religion/Way of Jesus, and therefore, how they shape our own lives as followers of the Way of Jesus. We continue this Sunday by hearing and reflecting on the words of the Prophet Zephaniah, and consider how his words of hopeful lament about God restoring justice to his people connects with our celebration of Labor Day. We will be singing together, celebrating our communion, and sharing our faith promises to be people of peace unto each other and all people. All are welcome!

GOOD MORNING! AUGUST 30, 2026 UPDATE:

For the Summer, we turn a worshipful ear to the voices of the twelve Hebrew prophets known as the “Minor Prophets” as we consider how they shaped the religion/Way of Jesus, and therefore, how they shape our own lives as followers of the Way of Jesus. We continue this Sunday by hearing and reflecting on the words of the Prophet Habakkuk, whose audience was not an unfaithful people, but God - as Habakkuk models how to respond to the imperfections and injustices of life not with despair or grievance that keeps us stuck, but with hopeful lament that keeps us focused on the future that will inevitably come by God’s promise. We will be singing together, naming our joys and concerns in fellowship and prayerfulness, practicing our own lament, and sharing our faith promises to be people of peace unto each other and all people. All are welcome!

We continue this Sunday by hearing and reflecting on the words of the Prophet Nahum, who reminded the people living under the rule of the Assyrian Empire to not lose hope in God’s Way and God’s inevitable restoration of justice. We will be singing together, naming our joys and concerns in fellowship and prayerfulness, and sharing our faith promises to be people of peace unto each other and all people. All are welcome!

For the rest of the Summer, we will turn a worshipful ear to the voices of the twelve Hebrew prophets known as the “Minor Prophets” as we consider how they shaped the religion/Way of Jesus, and therefore, how they shape our own lives as followers of the Way of Jesus. We continue this Sunday by hearing and reflecting on the Prophet Obediah’s words of lamenting that when one nation (Edom) indifferently or antagonistically allows another (Judah) to suffer, this is a violation of God’s Will of peace, justice, and COMMUNION among the human community of nations; and, we will be invited to consider what this means for our own attitudes toward the other peoples and nations of the world. We will be singing together, celebrating our communion with God and all our neighbors, and sharing our faith promises to be people of peace unto each other and all people. All are welcome!
