On Juneteenth, we remember a holy and painful truth: freedom was declared—yet many enslaved men, women, and children lived for years without knowing it.

Juneteenth marks the day that news finally reached enslaved people in Texas that they had been set free. It’s a reminder that freedom is precious—and that the announcement of freedom changes lives.

As people of faith, we also hold to a deeper promise: in Jesus Christ, God offers a freedom no person, circumstance, government, or border can take away—freedom from sin, freedom to hope, freedom for a life of purpose.

Today, we honor the witness of Black communities, give thanks for the enduring struggle for justice, and pray that we would live as people who tell the truth, love our neighbors, and share the freedom we’ve been given.

My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. — Psalm 121:2

Rebuilding. Renewing. Restoring.

When Batey El Salado was bulldozed, the people didn't scatter — they gathered. Worship began in a backyard. Then a foundation. Then walls, raised by hands from West Virginia and the Rocky Mountains alongside the congregation. Today, Iglesia Bautista El Tamarindo is rising.

Just down the road in La Romana, seniors at Mi Roca y Mi Fortaleza are finding new purpose — one widow says she's gone from "cook, sit, cry, and sleep" to a life full of hope.

This is rebuilding, renewing, and restoring. Thank you for walking with us.

🌿 A Place of Compassion and Care

Tabitha House, supported by IM partner Hungarian Baptist Aid, is a sanctuary of love, providing free medical care and compassionate support to children living with incurable diseases—and to the families who walk alongside them. As Hungary’s only pediatric hospice, it stands with families facing life’s most difficult journey: the loss of a child.

Since opening in 2011, Tabitha House has served nearly 360 families with dignity, comfort, and hope. Now, thanks to a recent Palmer Grant, their impact will grow even further—with plans for a new building and a recreational garden where families can find moments of peace together.
