St. Paul's Masterworks Choruses

St. Paul's Masterworks Choruses During the St. There are three choral organizations: one for adults, and two for children.

The 3 Masterworks choruses bring together singers of all ages & denominations to perform sacred choral literature of the great composers as well as more contemporary works. Paul’s Masterworks Chorus (SPMC) season over 120 musicians of all ages gather for weekly rehearsals to learn the sacred choral literature of the world’s most loved composers. SPMC concerts create opportunities for the performer

s and listeners to personally celebrate the beauty and meaning of an art that can potentially change lives. Each member’s talent and spirit are vitally important to the entire chorus, as the Masterworks choruses provide a common ground for sharing meaningful fellowship and spiritual growth. The Adult SPMC, founded in 1975, is dedicated to re-creating and interpreting the sacred literature of the great masters. Its choristers, who represent churches of many denominations, are helping keep alive our heritage of sacred choral works. The Adult SPMC is composed of volunteer singers from many professional backgrounds who live in the King George area. The Junior SPMC, founded in 1996, and the Youth SPMC, founded in 1999, are made up of young singers ages 4-19. These outreach programs were established to create musical opportunities for young singers and to stimulate the interest of young people in singing sacred choral music. Our growing children’s choruses represent many churches of various denominations. New members are welcomed each season; prospective new members may contact the directors at (540) 663-2807 (adult chorus) or (540) 775-3012 (Junior and Youth choruses.) The Masterworks Choruses present three annual concerts, and have showcased many outstanding instrumentalists and soloists. The combined choruses present a concert in November, the children sing in May, and the adults present a major choral masterwork in the spring, usually the second Sunday in June. With God’s help, the SPMC will continue to grow, sharing with listeners these inspiring multi-generational concerts of sacred music, dedicated, as always, to His glory.

I had a MOMMY MELTDOWN yesterday! 😭
I rushed to get my daughter out the door. We had a power outage last night (from storms that were still occurring). We woke up late. I say let's grab Wendy's on the way to school.
Pulling into the Wendy's drive-thru, the voice on the speaker chirped, "Welcome to Wendy's! What can I get you today?"
I realize I left my PURSE AT HOME! "OH CRAP" I blurt out.
"What's the cheapest breakfast item you have?" I asked.
The lady on the other side of the speaker said "sausage biscuit is $1.75 or a regular biscuit is $1.50."
"I think I left my purse at home, one second let me see if I have enough..."
The voice, thankfully, didn't get angry. Instead, there was a kind understanding. They waited patiently for me to decided (AKA find enough change)
Scrambling for some spare change in the car console, I found just enough for one sausage biscuit. "OK, I will take the sausage biscuit".
Pulling up to the window, I handed over a pile of change, feeling every bit the flustered mom.
The girl at the window, with a kind smile, noticed my stress. "Is everything okay?" she asked gently. She was only about 18 or 19 herself.
I explained the power outage, the forgotten purse, and then... disaster struck again! My daughter piped up from the back, "Mom, you forgot my snack for school!"
Ugh, this morning just couldn't get any worse!
The girl at the window, however, did something incredible.
She disappeared for a moment, then returned with a sight that brought tears to my eyes.
There was a little bag with apple slices, an orange juice, and an extra biscuit!
"These apples and juice are for your daughter," she said "and the biscuit is for you, mama! You can't forget about yourself. Once you get some food in your belly, you'll start thinking straight."
I was speechless.
This complete strange turned a chaotic morning into something great.
I thanked her profusely, but she just laughed and said, "Don't worry about it, pay it forward when you can!"
After dropping off my daughter, completely touched by the experience, I went back to Wendy's with $20 to show my gratitude. The girl refused the money!
"I just love doing nice things for people who seem like they need it," she said. "It changes your whole day, doesn't it?"
She was absolutely right.
We need more people like her in this world!
That Wendy's employee – she's going places.
And she definitely showed me the true meaning of kindness.
Now I’m wondering how I can repay her
