Dear Round Hill Baptist Church,
Last Sunday, a worship service at Cities Church in Minnesota was unlawfully disrupted by protesters who were frustrated with ICE activities in their city. Cities Church is a church established with the assistance of the North American Mission Board (NAMB) of the Southern Baptist Convention, with which we at Round Hill collaborate to plant churches in the United States and Canada. They are our brothers and sisters in Christ, and our shared affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention further strengthens our bond.
In response to this incident, the NAMB has issued a statement to provide us with information about the situation. I hope this prompts you to pray for both our brothers and sisters at Cities Church and for the protesters who so unlovingly disrupted the worship of Christ.
While we do not seek persecution or suffering, Jesus teaches us that all disciples of Jesus must expect to endure it. As stated in Matthew 5:10-12, we should rejoice in such unfortunate events, like those at Cities Church. Please do not be troubled, Round Hill Baptist Church. Trust in the Lord and see how the Gospel will be proclaimed to bring salvation and reconciliation from this persecution.
Sincerely,
Josh Thompson
After yesterday’s disruption of worship services at our city missionary’s church in St. Paul (Cities Church), we are continuing to pray for the church and are helping to meet some tangible needs they have right now.
