Our Lady of the Cove Parish was established in 1960 by the first bishop of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau, Most Reverend Charles Helmsing. The first church was located on the shore of a cove of Table Rock Lake. Able to be reached by boat or land, the lakeshore mission church was primarily for summer vacationers. The first Mass was celebrated by Father James McKenna on November 26, 1961.

Father McKenna, Father James Philips, Father Quentin Hahn and Father Raymond Orf served the parish with its sister mission, Our Lady of the Ozarks in Forsyth, under the care of Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Branson. As the parish grew a need for a bigger church arose. While Father John Brath was pastor, ground breaking took place at the present site on June 25, 1978. After completion of the new church, Bishop Bernard Law elevated the mission church to parish status. There are currently about 450 families registered with the Parish.

ALL MEN OF OUR LADY OF THE COVE,
Weary of a journey alone? Join other men at OLC and beyond as we come together for a little prayer, formation and small group fraternity - preparing for a Consecration to St. Joseph on Nov 1. St. Joseph is the model par excellence for Christian men in an age of division and despair. We will use the book entitled “Consecration to St Joseph: The Wonders of Our Spiritual Father” as our guide.
• We will meet for 6 sessions on Friday’s at 7:30am for an hour+ between Sep 25 – Oct 30 at the OLC church facilities
• Minimal reading required; no need to attend every gathering (in case you have a couple calendar conflicts)

Funeral Arrangements for Parishioner Jeanne Marie Olson.
Jeanne Olson a long-time parishioner, married 53 years to Al Olson was called home to Lord August 19, 2026.
Funeral Mass will be August 28, 2026, at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Cove Catholic Church, with Father J. Friedel, pastor, presiding.
A luncheon will follow the funeral mass with burial at Pinecrest Cemetary following the Luncheon.
