Happy feast of St. Patrick!

Who was St. Patrick?

A lucky Irish leprechaun, as he's often depicted? Or a Catholic bishop who inspired others to a life of holiness?

It might not surprise you to learn that he was not an Irish leprechaun, but in fact a bishop.

Captured from his home of Roman Britain by pirates at the age of 14, Patrick lived as a slave who herded and tended sheep in Ireland until he was 20 years old and escaped his captors. A few years after his return to his home land, a vision prompted him to study the priesthood. He was later ordained and sent back to Ireland to share the Gospel.

Just a reminder: we will have the CDA chinese auction baskets on display before and after Mass starting this weekend. Please drop off your baskets at church in the basement closet before this Saturday evening Mass!

The Pasta Bake supper and Chinese auction is coming up!

CHINESE AUCTION: We are asking for basket donations for the auction! Please drop them off in the basement prior to the March 14/15 weekend as the chairmen will be selling chances that weekend and March 21 during the pasta bake meal. Contact Kayla DeJong or Courtney Geppert with questions.

PASTA BAKE: We will be following the same format as last year. We are asking for cash donations to help cover the cost of groceries and decorations, and we are also looking for a few volunteers to assist with serving the meal and clean-up.
Menu:
Penne pasta bake, corn, lettuce salad, garlic knot, chocolate chip bar, lemonade/coffee/water

January 22 marks the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a day that reminds me why the fight to protect life has mattered to me, and why I entered public service in the first place. May we never lose sight of the dignity and worth of every human life.

Over the years, I’ve passed strong pro-life legislation, helped families through adoption, guided South Dakota Right to Life as their Vice President, and spearheaded the successful No on G campaign.

I’m proud of the progress we’ve made here in South Dakota, and I remain committed to building on that work. As your next governor, I will continue to stand strong for life and ensure our state remains a place where every child is valued and protected.

Jon Hansen is now running for Governor of South Dakota and helped defeat Amendment G. Jon has an amazing, devout, Catholic family! He will be in Kimball this coming Friday, January 16th at 6:00pm at the American Legion for a meet and greet.
