It’s hard to believe this week has come to end! And what a wonderful, incredible week it’s been! God was in every inch of the church building! 🙌🏻❤️
-We had over 235 present!
-Over $1400 raised for our friends at Hands of Hope International
-And THREE children (SO FAR!) prayed to receive Christ! 🙌🏻
We wrapped up night 4 by Diving Deep into our relationships with our enemies.
When we think of having a relationship with our enemies, most people think it’s similar to oil and water…because they just don’t mix. Right?
But why won’t they mix? Because they are made of two different substances. Water is heavier than oil, this is why it sinks to the bottom.
Think back to night 1 when we talked about building a strong foundation in Jesus. Jesus is referred to as the living water. When water is poured into a jar with oil, notice how the water fills the bottom of the jar. That is because water is heavier. It carries more weight. More substance. The oil is lighter and sits on top of the water. Think of the oil like unforgiveness, resentment, and bitterness. Those things will never mix with the Living Water. Those are things that separate us from the Lord.Those are the things the Lord is carrying for us on the surface. And those things are not meant to mix. But notice how they can still exist together in the same environment. Notice the division, the protection from the water. That is what the Lord provides for us, he carries the weight of the world’s problems for us by separating us from them. But it requires us giving him those problems first.
Let’s take a look at how Jesus was able to exist in the same environment with his enemies, and his response to them.
He fed them.
Judas.
Matthew 26:24-25
“The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man! It would be better for him if he had not been born.” Then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, “Surely you don’t mean me, Rabbi?” Jesus answered, “You have said so.”
He prayed for them.
Those that were crucifying him.
Luke 23:24
“And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.”
He saved them by dying for them.
You. Me. Everyone.
Romans 5:10
“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.”
And He has called us to do the same.
“But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:27-28
It’s all about building that strong relational foundation in Jesus. Without it, every other relationship in our life will suffer.
Thank you to the parents for taking the time to bring your children and letting us teach them about the love of Jesus.
Thank you to the volunteers for showing up, and pouring out night after night. You guys are rockstars and we couldn’t do it without each of you.
We love you guys and have been honored to sow into your children this week. Thank you for entrusting them with us. We will continue to be praying for each seed that was sown.
