Good Morning,

Today’s food for thought from our Marriage Enrichment Ministry..

Look your wife in the eyes tonight and tell her, “You are the most important person in my life. There is no one I’d rather walk through this life with.”

GO DEEPER:

“I have found the one whom my soul loves.” — Song of Solomon 3:4
Lionel Richie and Diana Ross sang “Endless Love” about a devotion so complete that two lives become inseparable. The song speaks of being everything to someone — their first love, their last, their inspiration.
That’s covenant marriage.

But here’s what happens: life strips away the grandness of our declarations. We said “forever” on our wedding day. We meant it. But we stopped saying it. And our spouse started wondering.

Your wife needs to hear your devotion spoken out loud.
Not just assumed.
Not just implied.
👉Declared.

In my counseling office, one of the most common complaints I hear is, “I don’t know if he’s still in.” Not because the love is gone, but because it’s gone silent.
Silence in marriage isn’t neutral. It’s dangerous. When you stop declaring your love, your wife starts filling the silence with doubt.

Jackie knows I love her. But she still needs to hear it. She needs to hear that after 56 years, she is still my person. My first thought. My last prayer. My greatest earthly gift.
Your wife needs the same. Don’t let the love go silent. Declare it today.

Today’s food for thought from our Marriage Enrichment Ministry..

Throw away the scoreboard. Release one thing you’ve been holding over your wife and choose grace instead.

GO DEEPER:

“Love keeps no record of wrongs.” — 1 Corinthians 13:5
One of the most destructive patterns I see when I talk with couples.
“I did the dishes three times this week and you didn’t once.”
“I apologized last time. It’s your turn.”
“I’ve sacrificed more for this marriage than you have.”
Sound familiar?

Scorekeeping feels fair, but it’s poison. It turns your marriage into a competition where both of you lose.
Jackie and I had to learn this the hard way. Early on, I kept a mental tally of everything I contributed. When I felt the scales were tipped, resentment crept in.
But the truth is, marriage was never meant to be 50/50.

It’s meant to be 100/100, each of you giving everything you have.
Grace means giving without keeping score.
Grace means forgiving without bringing it up again.
Grace means serving even when you feel like it’s not being reciprocated.
That’s what Jesus does for us. He doesn’t keep a record of our failures. He doesn’t withhold love until we earn it. He gives freely, fully, and without conditions.

Your wife needs that kind of love from you. Throw away the scoreboard. Choose grace. Watch what happens.
