Sometimes we convince ourselves that small decisions don't matter, but the reality is that life is rarely ruined by one huge, spectacular mistake. It is almost always that tiny step that seemed insignificant: a message you shouldn't have sent, a heated reply, a business deal that felt off, or that habit you promised yourself would be "just for today."

The mistake lies in believing that God only shows up to give His stamp of approval at the end of the journey. Yet Proverbs 3:6 reminds us of something crucial: "Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight." It doesn't say He will fix the mess after you’ve already ended up where you shouldn't be; it says He wants to be with you throughout the process, guiding every small move.

Before you go any further, pause and be honest with yourself: Does what I am about to do bring me closer to Jesus, or does it merely bring me closer to a whim of my own?
