Today I shared an important update with our Fusion Community Church family.
For the past several years, the United Methodist Church has been incredibly generous financially, and it is because of that support that Fusion was able to launch and exist.
Before we ever started, I made it clear that if we reached the end of the initial three-year funding window and additional support was needed, I did not feel called to divide my focus between multiple churches. I believed then – and still believe now – that a young church plant has the greatest opportunity to take root and thrive when it has the full attention and leadership of its pastor.
Because of my unwillingness to pursue a multi-church appointment, combined with our inability to financially sustain ourselves at this point, the United Methodist Church has compassionately decided to close Fusion Community Church at the conclusion of my appointment at the end of June.
While this is difficult news, I want everyone to know this clearly: I truly believe God is not finished with this mission or this community.
Over the last several years, we have seen lives changed, relationships built, people loved, and Jesus lifted high. Fusion was never just about a building or a service—it has always been about the mission to Love God and Love People. That mission continues.
I’m incredibly thankful for every person who has been part of this journey, and I’m also excited for what’s ahead. We don’t know exactly what the timeline will look like yet, but we do know this: God is faithful.
I’d encourage you to take a few moments to watch the video below as I share more from my heart about this next season.
Please continue praying for our church, our community, and for God’s direction in the days ahead. And over these next several weeks, let’s celebrate everything God has done together and finish strong.
