We know you're all excited about the new building, but we'd be even more excited if we had all of our summer staff in place soon.

As summer camps have swelled, so have the number of seasonal staff required to keep up in the kitchen and dining hall, in the craft and snack shops, at the waterfront and in and around our buildings and grounds.

Are you a young person or know of a young person who isn't afraid of hard but fun-filled, purposeful work? We'd love to talk to them about working at Camp Judson this summer.

In particular, we need:

One person to run our craft shop, take pictures and videos and put together a weekly photo album for campers to take home.

One or two more people who would enjoy working in the kitchen. We're not looking for chefs, just coachable kids who are willing to learn their way around the kitchen.

Interested high school and college-aged kids can find out about all of our summer positions and perks at campjudson.org/work-here/summer-jobs and fill out an application at https://campjudson.org/work-here/apply-for-a-summer-job

We hope to hear from you soon!

"So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."
Ephesians 3:17-19

The final structural beam was installed yesterday. It's hard to understand how big Bear Gulch Lodge is unless you see it. So we hope this short clip will help you grasp the size and scope of this project and remind you how great and good a God we serve!

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope (Romans 15:13)."

It's been a week since high winds rolled through the Black Hills and knocked out power at Camp Judson, so we've been thinking a lot about power lately. But it takes on a different meaning at Christmas.

You see, the power of Christmas is that Jesus changes everything.

God came for us. This is what makes faith in Jesus different from any religion or self-help program. We couldn't go up to God, so Jesus came down to us.

Jesus became like us, so we might become more like Him. Christmas reminds us that the power of God is at work, and it's His power that works in, through and for us. It's a call to discipleship, and it's why we do what we do here at Camp Judson. This good news of great joy to all people is what we proclaim through Bible teaching, team-building activities, positive role models, connection with God’s creation, and a supportive community.

So Merry Christmas, friends! When we couldn't get to God, He came for us. May that power your Christmas celebrations this year in a way that electricity can't.

We expect power to be restored soon, and registration for all 2026 summer youth, adult and family camps will open Jan. 1 at campjudson.org.

In the meantime, you can set up or edit your account by visiting campjudson.portal.icamppro.com/login. And you can partner with us in what God is doing at campjudson.org/give.

We're looking forward to seeing those registrations rolling in soon!

P.S. If you look closely, you'll notice the cross stands high above any earthly power.

We've been without power since high winds rolled through the Black Hills late Wednesday evening. The upside is there will be plenty of slash for Project campers to clean up. The downside is limited communication. If you haven't heard back from us about registration or are expecting more information about registration, it will come as soon as we're back up and running.

The sights and sounds of Christmas look and sound a little different around here. Work continues on the new chapel, snow or shine, daylight or dark. A larger gathering place for worship, teaching and camp life is needed for the growing number of kids and adults who want and need a Christian camping experience.

is almost here. Would you partner with us this Christmas season to finish construction of this much-needed space to reach more kids with the good news of Jesus Christ?

We're happy to announce that registration for Winter Camp 2026 is open at campjudson.org, and registration for all summer youth, young adult and family camps will open Jan. 1.

Winter Camp opens with supper on Friday, February 13 and wraps up after breakfast on Monday, February 16. Students in the sixth through twelfth grades may attend this Presidents' Day weekend event.

What makes Camp Judson's Winter Camp stand out is its blend of Christ-centered teaching and adrenaline-pumping fun. Many outdoor activities, such as tubing and broomball, are offered—snow or shine.

These shared experiences build stronger bonds between students and leaders—and create core memories that reinforce their spiritual walk.

Outdoor activities, along with indoor programming, create space for spiritual transformation and community connection. So if you're looking for a seasonal getaway grounded in fun, friendship and faith, Winter Camp at Camp Judson is for you!

No joke. Day Camp is the real deal. This week, we're going to highlight all the reasons you should send your preschool or elementary-aged child to either or both of our Day Camps.

Reason No. 1: Your child will get to try all the things. Kids who attend Day Camp are introduced to sports, outdoor education, fine and dramatic arts and music. That means they'll learn how to throw a football, dribble a basketball and soccer ball, serve a volleyball, cheer, dance, paddle a canoe and kayak, set up a campsite and thrive in the backcountry, speak a new language (ASL), do improv and improve their rhythm.

Day Camp is the remedy to risk-averse kids. We invite children to try new things and emphasize process over outcome. We get kids out of their comfort zone by letting them know they're loved and safe, and that it's OK to fail and then try again.

Day camps, which help kids draw connections between what they're experiencing at camp to a life of following Jesus, is open to children going into kindergarten through sixth grade. This fun and formative weekday experience is offered Tuesday through Friday in late May and Monday through Friday in early June.

Register at https://campjudson.org/day-camps. Transportation to and from Camp Judson may be purchased.

You know you've got a great summer staff when they ask to come back and help at Winter Camp. The weather was frigid at this year's Winter Camp, but the fellowship was sweet!

If you want to be part of something bigger and find community that's real and really awesome, apply to work full-time at Camp Judson. We hire about 16 to 18 high school and college-aged students every summer to serve our campers and keep camps running smoothly.

Fill out an application online at https://campjudson.org/work-here. You'll find all the details about pay, perks and the people you'll soon call friends.

After a cold snap, we're enjoying a temperature inversion that's pushed the mercury at least 30 degrees higher than the surrounding hills. It makes for good progress on the new chapel and a good excuse to remind you about Winter Camp. There's still time and space to register for this four-day, three-night experience, which begins next Friday, Feb. 14 and wraps up Monday, Feb. 17.

Winter Camp provides a life-giving break from the pressures and expectations of daily school year schedules. This President's Day weekend getaway at Camp Judson offers middle through high school-aged kids a chance to pull away, catch a breather and see the bigger picture of what God is doing in their lives.

As with other youth camps, phones and other electronics are not allowed. We want kids to disconnect from their devices so they can learn how to stay connected to Jesus in every area of their lives.

Register for Winter Camp at campjudson.org. We hope to see you here next weekend!
