Freedom was founded in 1983 when a group of believers felt God lead them to start an Independent Baptist Church in Keystone Heights. We are conveniently located between Jacksonville and Gainesville in the heart of the beautiful Lake Region.

This Sunday, we continue our series, "Sit. Walk. Stand. – How to Grow in Christ" as we open Ephesians 1:7 and celebrate the freedom that comes through His blood.

👉🏼 In the ancient world, the slave market was one of the most feared places on earth. People stood on the block in chains—helpless, hopeless, and for sale. No one standing there could free themselves. Someone else had to pay the price.

Paul takes that familiar marketplace language, applies it to the gospel, and paints this picture in Ephesians 1:7 with one powerful word: redemption.

📖 “In whom we have redemption through his blood…” Ephesians 1:7

⛓️‍💥 The chains may look different today—addiction, shame, anxiety, past mistakes, or the endless need to prove ourselves—but the gospel declares the same truth: the full ransom has already been paid in full by the blood of Jesus. 🙌🏼

💪🏼 Jesus walked into the slave market of sin, paid the price in full, unlocked the chains, and said, “You belong to Me now—not as a slave, but as a son or daughter.”

🚫 You are no longer for sale.
You belong to Christ. ❤️

❤️ Think about the special names we give the people we love most… "Sweetheart. Honey. Babe. My Love. Buddy. Princess…"

These names carry affection and belonging.

🤔Did you know the Father has a special title for His Son: the Beloved. And the amazing truth of Scripture is that He has placed us inside that same title.

We have already seen what Paul said to the church: we have been chosen, predestined, and adopted. But now he says, We are accepted in the Beloved.

📖 This Sunday, we continue our series in Ephesians, “Sit. Walk. Stand. – How to Grow in Christ.” We will open Ephesians 1:6 and discover what it really means to be fully accepted by God — not because of who we are or what we bring, but because of who Jesus is and what He has done.

💔 We live in a world that talks constantly about acceptance…
Yet so many still feel deeply unaccepted.

Culture offers a list of demands and calls it acceptance.
✝️God offers His Son and calls it grace.

🙌🏼 God does not accept us based on who we are, what we have done, what we look like, or what we bring to the table. He accepts us because of who Jesus is and what Jesus has done.

🤔 What do these words mean to you?
Chosen. Predestined. Adopted. Accepted.

Last week, we saw that God chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. This Sunday, we continue in Ephesians 1:5–6 with two more life-changing truths.

🏗️ Think about it… Before a builder ever breaks ground on a house, the surveyor comes and marks the property lines. The boundaries are set. The horizon of what that property will become is already determined. Before the first board is cut, the limits and the destination are already established.

📖 This Sunday, we will continue to talk about these biblical truths: Chosen. Predestined. Adopted. Accepted.

And here is the comfort for every believer: What God starts, He finishes.

👉🏼 The destination God marked out beforehand is expressed in another biblical word: adoption, or “son-placing.”

In the Roman world, adoption was a formal legal act that completely changed a person’s status. Old family ties were severed. Every debt was canceled. The adopted son or daughter received full rights, including the inheritance. In the eyes of the law, they became a new person.

🙌🏼 That’s what God has done for us!

We are no longer strangers or orphans. We have been permanently placed as sons and daughters with full rights.

Paul also says we are accepted in the Beloved — the same standing of favor that Jesus Himself enjoys with the Father. When God looks at you and me, He sees you in His Beloved Son. Your acceptance is not earned; it is given in Christ.

Chosen. Predestined. Adopted. Accepted.

❤️ Remember Mephibosheth. He did not climb into the palace. He was sought, chosen, and given a permanent place at the king’s table by pure kindness.

As a believer, you are not trying to get into the family. You were chosen and adopted — now grow up in Christ.

🤔 Are you still performing for acceptance? Ever feel like you’re still trying to earn a place at the table? For the believer, you are not trying to get into the family. You were chosen and adopted — now grow up... in Christ. We can rest in that biblical truth. For the unbeliever, you are on the outside looking in, a spiritual orphan, but one that God loves and pursues.

📖 This Sunday, we’re continuing our series “Sit. Walk. Stand.” with a message from Ephesians 1:3–6. We will see three life-changing truths:
✅ 1. Chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world
✅ 2. Predestined to adoption as a son or daughter
✅ 3. Accepted in the Beloved

💔 Paul’s words remind us of the powerful story of Mephibosheth — a forgotten, fallen, and overlooked crippled man living in a barren place called Lo-debar, which means "no pasture." By every human measure, he was completely barred from the royal palace.

❤️ But he was sought out, chosen, adopted, and given a permanent seat at the king’s table by pure grace and kindness. Not because he earned it, performed for it, or deserved it.

👉🏼That is the exact picture of what God did for us as we read in Ephesians 1. We didn't climb our way into the palace. We were sought, chosen, and adopted and now have a seat at the table of grace. We can stop striving and sit down and rest in the grace that’s already ours.

🙌🏼 My friend, you are not an accident, and you are not an afterthought. Before the foundation of the world, God set His purposeful love on you. When God adopts you, your old debts are entirely canceled, and you receive the full rights of a true son or daughter. Predestination is simply God’s guarantee that what He starts in your life, He will finish.

🔥Praise God, believers are chosen, adopted, and accepted by the Father!

Come discover the security and freedom that comes from knowing you already belong. Identity always comes before activity. We grow by first "sitting"—resting in our position and receiving every spiritual blessing in Christ.
