Mrs Burt's entire life was dedicated to teaching. She taught for 42 years. Her first call was to Memorial Lutheran School in Williamston, MI. She taught grades 1-4. Next, She took a call to Trinity Lutheran School in Marshfield, WI. She taught grades 1-2 for 21 years. Then, her family moved to FL. She taught grades 2 and 3 in the public school for 15 years. She moved back to WI and accepted the call here to St. Lucas Lutheran School in Kewaskum where She taught grades 4-5 for the past 3 years. A fond memory for her at St. Lucas was the living history museum that the students put on for Family Night. "It was exciting to see the excitement that the students put into researching their person or persons for the living museum and acting out their person. Also, it is great to see how the older students are always willing to help out the younger students in a parochial school".
Her plans now that she is retired are to spend more time with her granddaughters and travel.
