Volunteer Spotlight: Betty Matter ❤️

If you’ve ever walked through the doors of Calvary Temple Church, chances are you’ve been greeted by the warm smile and welcoming hug of Betty Matter. Or “Hugging Betty” as pastor Del calls her.

Betty began attending Calvary in 1989 and stepped into her role as a greeter in 1994. For more than three decades, she has faithfully served as one of the first friendly faces people see when they arrive.

When asked why she loves serving, Betty’s answer is simple:

“I love the people, and I love giving hugs.”

Anyone who knows Betty can attest to that. Her kindness, genuine love for others, and joyful spirit make everyone feel welcome and at home.

When asked what makes Calvary Temple her church home, Betty shared:

“Pastor Del gives us the Word we need to hear. I enjoy his sermons, and Pastor Heath and Pastor Ben also preach what we need to hear.”

Betty’s faithfulness, servant’s heart, and unwavering dedication have impacted countless lives over the years. We are grateful for her ministry of encouragement and for the love she shares with every person who walks through our doors.

Thank you, Betty, for being such a blessing to the Calvary family! ❤️🙏🏻✨

🦌 Elevate Youth is having a Camo Night—so grab your camo gear and come ready for a great night!

🎨 Princess Academy and survivor cam will be enjoying a fun craft night filled with creativity and fellowship.

There’s something for the whole family, so bring your kids, invite your neighbors, and come expecting a great evening together. We can’t wait to worship, learn, and grow with you!

Our JOY Group had a great time at our Hawaiian-themed luncheon today! 🌺🌴

Along with enjoying good food, fun decorations, and even better fellowship, we collected diapers and wipes for the Kerrville Pregnancy Center. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped bless local families in our community. ❤️

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with laughter, friendship, and giving back. We’re so thankful for this amazing group!

Our church family will be gathering tomorrow at 11:00 AM to celebrate the life of Wendi Finkbeiner and honor her memory.

The memorial service will be held at Calvary Temple Church.

Please join us as we come together in love, prayer, and remembrance. We continue to pray for peace, comfort, and strength for the Finkbeiner family. ❤️🕊️
