Ohana Kids

Ohana Kids One of the cool things we do at Ohana Church is that we include our kids in the music part of worship.

Kids love music and we feel it is important for little ones to see us worship together as a family.

Magic tricks and illusions have a way of sparking wonder and curiosity. But long before today’s magicians, Daniel and his friends stood out during the Babylonian exile. They were wiser than the magicians and astrologers of their time because they looked to God for wisdom. Through their brave actions and wise choices, they showed God’s power to everyone around them—no tricks needed! In this 4-week series, kids will learn that God helps us choose wisely, God is ready to rescue us, God’s words show us what to do, and our courage can help others see God. See you Sunday to begin this new series!

Each season—fall, winter, spring, and summer—brings something unique and wonderful. From leaves changing colors to flowers blooming or animals hibernating, the changing seasons remind us that no matter what, God is with us through it all. In this 4-week series, kids will discover how we can respond to God in every season of life. They’ll learn that God’s words are always in season, God leads us in every season, God hears us no matter the season, and we can thank God for every season. Reminder that August 30th is a Family Service. See You Sunday!

Family game night can get messy when people play favorites
or don’t treat each other fairly. Sunday, we heard about how Jacob
and Esau’s family had their own set of problems, like trickery,
favoritism, and jealousy. But God’s plan for them was bigger
than their mistakes, and the same goes for us because we’re all
welcome in God’s family. Be on the lookout on Friday for our next series, which has Mr. Grady's favorite word as its title.

Waiting your turn in a board game is tough, especially when you
want to win. Sunday, we saw how Abraham and Sarah waited
a long time for God to give them a son and how Abraham later
showed great faith in a difficult moment. Their story reminds us
that God knows our needs and cares for us, so we can trust God
to provide. One final Game to go!

Game night starts great until someone suddenly "forgets" the
rules, and before you know it, it's game over! Sunday we saw
how Abraham still cared for Lot and prayed for his safety, even
after they parted ways. His story reminds us that a way to love our
family is by talking to God about them because we can pray for
our families. On to the next game!

A new board game promises oodles of family fun, but only if
everyone gives it a fair shot! Sunday we heard how God made
a big promise to Abraham, asking him to step into the
unknown faithfully. This promise was for his whole family and future
generations, including us, so even when we don’t know what’s
ahead, we can believe God’s promises. See you Sunday for our next Game!

New Month, New Series!! Nothing brings a family together—or stirs up some friendly drama—like a family game night! Just like in games, family life can have its own ups and downs, whether it’s with our given or chosen families. In this 4-week series, kids will explore how Abraham’s family navigated challenges and blessings while learning how we can care for our families, serve them well, and remember that we’re all part of God’s family. As they do, kids will learn that we can believe God’s promises, we can pray for our families, we can trust God to provide, and we’re all welcome in God’s family. See you Sunday!

Cause and effect are everywhere—floods grow plants, lost trees
leave animals without homes, and our daily choices shape who
we become. This week, we’ll see how two brothers, Cain and Abel,
responded differently to what God asked of them. Abel followed
God’s way, but Cain let anger take over, reminding us that when
we’re unsure what to do, God helps us make good choices.
Be on the lookout for next month's theme!

The world is amazing but far from perfect—animals get hurt,
forests disappear, and people make mistakes. This week, we’ll see
how Adam and Eve lived in a perfect world and still made a wrong
choice, but God didn’t give up on them. From the very beginning,
God had a plan to fix what was broken, proving that God made a
plan to save us.

Every part of nature, from tiny insects to the grandest trees, is
unique—but people are extra special. Sunday, we saw how
God created the first humans with care and purpose, designing
them to reflect who God is in a way nothing else can. Just as God
made Adam and Eve with intention, we can trust that we were
wonderfully made, too, because we are made in God’s image.
