This week is the final week of our Touch Grass series, and it's one for all of us! We'll be focusing on maintenance...yep, maintaining our bodies! Just like computers (and all machines), we have to take care of ourselves to stay connected to God and to achieve the reset that we so often need when the world bogs us down. Ever wonder what the Bible says about self-care? Join us this Sunday for worship and Small Groups as we wrap up this system reboot.

8:30am - First Fruits Worship
9:45am - Large Group
10am - Small Groups
10:55am - Traditional Worship
4-6pm - GYM

In order to live your passion, you first have to know what your passion is. So...

What is your passion?

This week the Youth are talking about figuring out what moves them and where their passions are. But it doesn't just stop there, then we are challenging them to take one small step. Nothing big. We're not expecting the cure to world hunger. But something that moves in the direction of someone else. An action that begins to shine the light of Christ into a dark corner of this world.

You know what young people need the most though?

Examples.

They need to see us living out the passions that God has placed in our own hearts. So, let's be reflective for a minute. What moves you to tears. Where do you see injustice and think "someone should do something about that"?

And then the question becomes, what have you done about it? Are you taking steps to shine the light of Christ in that dark corner?

Let's strive to be the example that our young people need. Let's move towards those who need Jesus the most. You don't have to know the solution to every problem, but you can take the next right step.

Dear God,

You have called me with a purpose, but I feel so small. Show me where you want to use me for your kingdom's glory. Bring tears to my eyes and then set my feet in motion.

"Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like You have loved me
Break my heart for what breaks Yours
Everything I am for your Kingdom's cause"

With the power of Your love, help me to make a difference for someone today.

Everyone needs a system reboot from time to time. Life can be so full that we find ourselves distant from God. We need a little reboot in order to get all the unused files off the desktop and find our way back to our Heavenly Father. Join us this Sunday for worship and Small Groups as we dive into using our free will to begin a God-given passion project!

This summer was a busy one. A good kind of busy, where every moment is filled with something wonderful to do. God's blessings were over us through it all.

And now that the summer is over, I find myself with a little extra time to sit and reflect...to just watch and listen. As a Mama and teacher, there are lots of things I want to say - opinions to give, directions to share, observations and guidance to offer. But I am tired. Tired from all that good busyness.

So, I am sitting and listening more. And here is what I have seen and heard (not for the first time, but always great to get a reminder).

Young people are awesome. They are willing to try new things and trust new people. They will put themselves out there and be vulnerable with one another. They are open to hear different perspectives, and they are fiercely loyal. They want to share the joy that they find.

My life has taught me a few things. And I do hold the titles, Mama and teacher. But for now, I will watch and listen. These young people have a thing or two to teach me.
