I love a good vacation. There’s something refreshing about stepping away from the usual schedules, cooking fewer meals, leaving the laundry behind, and simply enjoying time together as a family. Vacations can help us reset and return home feeling refreshed and ready to step back into everyday life.

But vacations are not the only place we find rest.

Trips are not always possible, but time with God always is.

God promises that his presence, and his Word will give us rest. And the rest he offers is even deeper than what a vacation can provide. It reaches straight to the heart. Instead of temporary relief or refreshment, his rest is lasting, life-giving, and eternal. So when you’re feeling exhausted, don’t plan the next thing, plan time in the Word of God.

When hiking, you watch the trail one step at a time. You don't need to see the entire path to keep moving forward. Following God is similar. He may not show us every detail of the future, but He gives us enough light for the next step. Trust Him to guide you each day.

School is out for the summer. Let’s be honest, summer can feel chaotic. Last-minute playdates, constant snack requests, loose routines, and more screen time than we planned. It is a lot. But it is also full of fun and opportunity.

In the middle of the chaos, remember this: God is with you in all of it, and he offers you peace.

So, stay rooted in Christ. Let your kids see you start your day with him, even if it is simple and imperfect. Invite them in. Pray throughout the day about ordinary things. Look for small, meaningful ways to bring faith into your time together. Most of all, focus on connection.

Summer is fleeting. Slow down where you can, be present, and make space for what matters most.

When people hear the word service, they often think of big projects or mission trips. But service can be much simpler. It can be helping a friend who is struggling, encouraging someone who feels left out, doing chores without being asked, or showing kindness to a classmate. It can even look like helping out with Summer Sprouts!

Jesus spent His life serving others. He healed people, listened to them, and cared for their needs. When we choose to serve, we reflect His love to the people around us.

Serving isn't about getting attention or recognition. It's about putting others first and showing God's love through our actions.
