PREGNANCY LOSS MEMORIAL SERVICE - send us your names
On Thursday, October 22nd 7 at 7PM, we will be serving the Molieben (supplication service) for Those Who Grieve at the Loss of an Infant.

October has been designated as National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Many parishes across the country have started holding annual memorial services for those who have lost infants in the womb or have had stillborn children. This is a meaningful way to offer up one's grief to the Lord and memorialize these dear children.

If you have never named these children, I encourage you to consider giving them names, since we believe they are indeed children known to God. This may also help those who have had an abortion in the past remember and mourn their loss.

If you would like to have your child remembered by name in the service, please send their name to [email protected]

Fr. Christopher had the wonderful opportunity of speaking at this year's Connect Conference for Orthodox Young Adults. One of our own young adults, Valentine, also attended. It was a wonderful conference, and we encourage any young adult (21-29) to attend next year.

With almost 200 faithful in attendance, we celebrated the Vigil for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross with great joy. Clergy and faithful from our sister Orthodox parishes in the Triad also attended.

Through the Cross, joy has come into all the world!

Join us! "Through the Cross, joy has come into all the world!"

Please consider joining us for the beautiful Vigil service for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 13. This feast commemorates the finding of the Cross of our Lord and the founding of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. Most importantly, it is a joyful celebration of the Cross and what Christ achieved on this Tree for our salvation.

Sunday, September 13 at 6 PM with a reception following.

What is this sound of feasting we hear?
Joachim and Anna mystically celebrate, saying:
“Rejoice with us today, O Adam and Eve;
for if by your transgression you closed the gate of Paradise to those of old,
we have now been given a glorious fruit,
Mary the child of God, who opens its entrance to all!”

She who was foreordained Queen of all
and the habitation of God,
has come forth today from the barren womb of joyful Anna.
She is the divine sanctuary of the eternal Essence;
shameless Hades has been trampled down through her,
and Eve with all her race is established secure in life.
It is meet and right that we should cry aloud to her:
“Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the Fruit of your womb!”

Today is the prelude of universal joy;
today the winds blow that herald salvation,
and the barrenness of our nature is dispelled;
for the barren woman is revealed as the mother
of her who remained a virgin
after giving birth to the Creator.
From her the One Who is God by nature
takes what is foreign to Him and makes it His own,
and works salvation through the flesh for those who have gone astray.
He is Christ, the Lover of man and the Redeemer of our souls.
