Happy Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

Today we celebrate the grace of God in taking our Blessed Mother, Mary, body and soul into Heaven.

This day also marks the beginning of a tradition called St. Michael’s Lent – a period of prayer, penance, and fasting leading up to the feast of St. Michael on September 29th. Similar to Lent before Easter, it’s a spiritual challenge to grow in holiness.

For anyone who wants to join this devotion, we have created a group on the Exodus 90 app under St. Patrick’s Church so we can keep each other accountable and grow together. Let us know if you want to join!

🙏🔥⚔️

Reminder: Our Monthly Council Meeting is this Sunday at 5pm! We will meet back in the old church now that the A/C is fixed. All Catholic Men are welcome to join our Brotherhood.

God bless you all! Have a blessed day.

Join Us for Bible Study – Reflecting on the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year C)

The readings we will be reflecting on this week are taken from the lectionary for Sunday, July 21st, the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time:

• First Reading: Genesis 18:1–10a
• Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 15:2–3, 3–4, 5
• Second Reading: Colossians 1:24–28
• Gospel: Luke 10:38–42

This Sunday’s readings highlight hospitality, presence, and the mystery of Christ within us. In Genesis, Abraham welcomes three mysterious visitors with generous hospitality, revealing God’s promise through his openness. The Psalm praises the one who lives with integrity and justice. Paul speaks of rejoicing in suffering for the sake of the Church and reveals the profound mystery of “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” In the Gospel, Jesus visits the home of Martha and Mary—inviting us to not just serve, but also to sit at His feet and listen, placing being with Christ before doing for Christ.

Come join us as we reflect on God’s presence in our homes, hearts, and daily lives, and the importance of balancing action with contemplation.
