Gathering around the gospel, sharing the good news. Join us for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM and 11:00AM!

We’re truly grateful for the blessing of hearing the Word preached from Dr. Mbewe this morning—what a compelling charge of staying close to Christ and stewarding our gifts back to his kingdom.

This Sunday, we have the privilege of welcoming Dr. Conrad Mbewe to preach at Parkside Kent. We are so thankful to have him join us. Dr. Mbewe has served as the pastor of Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka, Zambia, since 1987. Positioned in the heart of Zambia, Kabwata Baptist Church seeks God’s glory through joyful worship, evangelism, church planting, and building up of the saints. In addition to pastoring in the local church, Dr. Mbewe has a passion for education as a means of discipleship and training through the African Christian University (ACU). ACU seeks to equip students to think deeply, act justly, and serve faithfully in every sphere of life. Rooted in biblical truth and academic excellence, ACU strives to raise up a new generation of African leaders grounded in Christ. The School of Divinity aims to equip students with sound, gospel-centered, indigenous theological education in sub-Saharan Africa.

This fall we’re updating our service times, starting this Sunday. We hope to serve our church family well by offering more space in our parking lot and pews across both services. We’re also switching times for our kids ministry! For families with younger kids, please consider joining us in our first service at 9:30AM for classes offered for birth–5th grade. At our 11:00 service, we’ll have classes for birth–preschool. See you all this Sunday!

College students are invited to join us at Parkside Kent this fall as we do a three-week course on some foundational Christian subjects.

All three sessions take place after the second service at our church building on Rhodes Road, just a few minutes off Kent State’s campus.

Lunch will be provided for all of the sessions to give us a chance to hang out a bit after church—we like to do this periodically throughout the year. See you this Sunday!

Charles Spurgeon on Matthew 7:12–14: “In this place our King gives us His golden rule. Put yourself in another’s place, and then act to him as you would wish him to act towards you under the same circumstances. This is a right royal rule, a precept always at hand, always applicable, always right… Oh, that all men acted on it, and then there would be no slavery, no war, no sweating, no striking, no lying, no robbing; but all would be justice and love! What a kingdom is this which has such a law! This is The Code Christian. This is the condensation of all that is right and generous. We adore the King out of whose mouth and heart such a law could flow... Lord, teach it to me! Write it out in full in my life!”
