In June we celebrate Pride! On Sunday, June 21st we will celebrate Pride during our Sunday morning liturgy. I encourage you to check out the link below during June to learn more about q***r theology!

Did you know that like there is liberation theology, womanist theology, feminist theology, there is also q***r theology (and many others, like disability theology!)? We create these categories because we understand that having particular identities in this world will impact how we read scripture and relate to God. Over the centuries too many voices and identities have been historically silenced in the Christian Church. In the Episcopal Church we recognize that Jesus spent his life centering marginalized people and that by listening to these voices our understanding of scripture and who God is will be expanded and deepened. I hope you will check it out! (Thank you to Kim Bobbitt for sharing this with me)

with hope,
Mother Meghan

We pray for the repose of the soul of Juniper Blessing, the 19-year-old trans woman who was murdered in Seattle last week; and we pray for the end of gender-based violence, especially violence against our trans and non-binary siblings.

Good Shepherd Sunday!!!! Where we let the kids take over the church! This is an excellent Sunday to experience the joy and freedom of having Jesus as our Good Shepherd where we believe the children have much to teach us. It is also a Sunday where, without any pressure, the kid can participate in all the different ways that worship happens in the liturgy. They often find a new way to participate that they continue to do throughout the year!

Our robotics team made a robot that can bow and we allowed the robot to share in our sacred ritual of bowing to each other. Reminding us that how we interact with all physical objects impacts and forms us. A common theme in our robotics discussion is that technology is not good or bad - it is all about how we use it and how it forms us. Somehow this little robot makes the future a little less scary and makes us wonder how when used for the good technology can bring us together, connecting and delighting us!
