The Kent United Methodist Outreach team has joined forces with Terrific Tuesday Meals in support of those experiencing homelessness in our community. Every Tuesday, Terrific Tuesday Meals distributes hot takeout meals to more than 140 individuals at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kent (327 2nd Ave S, Kent, WA 98032). On the final Tuesday of each month, the KUMC Outreach team delivers shelf-stable foods and personal care items to Holy Spirit — things like peanut butter, oatmeal, mac & cheese, hearty soups, granola bars, and fruit cups that offer real nourishment and help stretch the tight budgets of those in need.

The following participating restaurants are donating a percentage of their sales to the Kent Food Bank and Emergency Services* when you dine at their venues on May 26th and 27th. Ting Tong Thai Cafe, Mary's Fine Foods, Azteca, Maggie's on Meeker, Thai Chili

One random diner that posts pictures or videos of themselves or their group dining and tags the Kent Food Bank will receive a $25 Gift Card.

Our mission team has finished up their work at UMCOR Sager Brown and returned home. During the week, 12 pallets of hygiene kits were completed (3600 kits), a wheelchair ramp was built for a family in the community, work was completed around the grounds, and assistance was provided to several other non-profit organizations. There was also time for fun and relaxation. On the way to the airport they toured The Whitney Plantation, a non-profit museum dedicated to sharing the history and legacies of slavery in the United States. It was an educational and sobering experience for the group. The team is incredibly grateful for the prayers and financial support from the whole congregation. They have returned home feeling blessed by all of those at Sager Brown and in the community who have served the team, and with a renewed excitement for serving others. Join us for worship on Sunday, May 17 for a chance to hear their stories.
