Something to ponder on today:

Why does a perfect God use such an imperfect person?

For example: I mess up daily, I am probably one of His most stubborn, more I can do it myself kids, why does He decide to use me in areas where I feel so unworthy!

Because, HE LOVES YOU!

People you love and hold dear when you mess up stay they don’t leave why?
Because they love you!

We celebrated Jesus resurrection yesterday! When we need to be celebrating that every day!

HE IS RISEN!

Why? BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU!

Today, let someone know that no matter what they are loved, Jesus loves them and sees them where they are at and is ready to wrap His arms around them !

Have a very blessed day!

“But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a distressing spirit from the Lord troubled him.”
‭‭I Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We tend to read the story of King Saul and look at it as he messed up! But what if there is a deeper meaning that we need to see:

Because of Saul’s disobedience and his choices the Lord departed from Saul. What would you do if that happened to you?

How many times a day do we disobey and just do what we choose to do?

Lord knows, I am very guilty of this! I get in my own feelings, want to do what I want, and fail to listen to God!

I can relate to King Saul, BUT GOD… He sent His son Jesus, so that when we mess up we can run to Him. And He’s always there with open arms to forgive us and set us straight!

Look we are going to mess up, we are human, but it’s not staying in the mess up but running back to Jesus!

How about you? Can you relate?
Have an amazing blessed day!❤️❤️

Last night/early this morning I was in bed trying to sleep, truth be known I probably should have got up and researched and acquired scripture. When we go through trials and test, we always hear how to praise Him through the storm or even in the book of James it says thank God for deeming you worthy to go through the test, and we should definitely do all the above. But I know I do I tend to forget the human emotions that come.

Human emotions is not a bad thing, God gave us every emotion from anger, to sad, to frustrated, worry, stressed, overwhelmed, happy, excited, etc. if we look in the 4 gospels when Jesus walked this earth He experienced everyone, and He let those emotions flow, He got mad (at religious leaders), He was happy(every time He healed or ministered), He stressed, (in the garden before He was crucified), and yet He did not sin! Why?

BECAUSE HE DIDNT STAY IN THAT EMOTION!

The Bible says, to not be a glutton, so do not become gluttonous in your emotions!
You can stay in that pity party, but choose not too!
You can be mad and hold a grudge but choose not too!

It’s ok to go through the levels and stages of emotion when trials, test, and brokenness comes! But don’t set up residence there! Don’t let those emotions take total autonomy over you!

The past three months for me has been some of the worst, not as bad as 2016 but still bad, and if there is one lesson I learned through all this, it’s ok to cry, vent, scream, punch a pillow, get those emotions out, but don’t live there, don’t live in the pit of a pity party! Go through the stages of emotions, and know through each stage that God is in control and still on His throne!

As we begin this weekend I encourage you to try and come to the BEST OF THE BROKEN Conference and join me/us!

At The Bridge in Kennett! Make plans to come, and let God be God!

Friday Night @ 7:00 pm

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9 NKJV

1. “Blessed are the peacemakers”

Peacemakers are people who actively bring reconciliation and unity where there is conflict.

This does not just mean avoiding conflict or staying quiet. A peacemaker:
• Helps people reconcile with God
• Helps people reconcile with each other
• Refuses to stir up strife, gossip, or division
• Speaks truth with love to restore relationships

In the Bible, true peace begins with God. The greatest act of peacemaking is helping people be reconciled to Him.

Scripture explains this:
• 2 Corinthians 5:18 – God gave believers the ministry of reconciliation.
• Romans 5:1 – Through Christ we have peace with God.

So peacemakers often help others find peace spiritually, relationally, and emotionally.

2. “For they shall be called sons of God”

In biblical language, “sons of” means someone who reflects the character of another.

So this means:
• Peacemakers act like their Father, God.
• God is the ultimate peacemaker, sending Jesus to reconcile humanity to Himself.

Because of that, people who bring peace show that they belong to God.

3. What this looks like in everyday life

A peacemaker might:
• Forgive when others hold grudges
• Calm arguments instead of fueling them
• Speak wisdom when people are angry
• Lead others toward reconciliation with God
• Pray for unity in families, churches, and communities

Peacemakers bring God’s heart into difficult situations.

4. A deeper spiritual meaning

Jesus was also pointing to His own mission.

Through the cross, Jesus made peace between God and humanity:
• Colossians 1:20 – Christ made peace through the blood of His cross.

So when believers promote peace, they are continuing the work and character of Christ.

Matthew 5:9 teaches that people who work to bring peace, reconciliation, and unity reflect the nature of God, and they will be recognized as His children.

1. Mercy → Matthew 5:7

“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.” — Matthew 5:7

Mercy is the starting point of transformation.

Mercy means:
• Showing compassion to people who have failed
• Forgiving instead of seeking revenge
• Treating others with the same grace God gives us

When someone truly experiences God’s mercy, they begin to extend mercy to others.

Jesus reinforced this idea in
Luke 6:36 — “Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”

Spiritual idea:
Experiencing God’s mercy softens the heart.

2. Purity of Heart → Matthew 5:8

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8

Once mercy begins shaping a person’s life, their heart becomes purified.

A pure heart means:
• Sincere motives
• No hidden hypocrisy
• A genuine desire for God
• Inner cleansing from bitterness, pride, and deceit

Purity is not perfection, but undivided devotion to God.

This connects with
Psalm 24:3-4 — only those with clean hands and a pure heart can stand before the Lord.

Spiritual idea:
Mercy toward others purifies the inner life.

3. Peacemaking → Matthew 5:9

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” — Matthew 5:9

When the heart becomes pure, a person begins to bring peace to others.

A peacemaker:
• Reconciles broken relationships
• Stops conflict instead of fueling it
• Leads people toward peace with God
• Reflects the character of God

God Himself is the ultimate peacemaker through Christ:

Colossians 1:20 — Jesus made peace through the blood of His cross.

Spiritual idea:
A purified heart produces a life that creates peace around it.

The Progression Jesus Was Teaching

1️⃣ Mercy → changes how you treat people
2️⃣ Purity → changes your heart
3️⃣ Peacemaking → changes the world around you

So the flow is:

Merciful heart → Pure heart → Peace-bringing life

This shows how a believer grows into the character of God.

Matthew 5:8 (NKJV)

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

This verse is part of the Beatitudes in Gospel of Matthew where Jesus Christ describes the kind of heart that belongs to God’s kingdom.

1. What “pure in heart” means

“Pure” in this verse means clean, sincere, and undivided.

A pure heart is someone who:
• Truly desires God above everything else
• Is sincere, not hypocritical
• Seeks holiness in thoughts, motives, and actions
• Is not living a double life

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about having a heart that is honest before God and continually turning toward Him.

Other scriptures explain this idea:
• Psalm 24:3–4 — “He who has clean hands and a pure heart…”
• Psalm 51:10 — “Create in me a clean heart, O God…”

King David prayed this after his sin because purity starts inside the heart, not just outward behavior.

2. “For they shall see God”

This has two meanings.

1) Spiritual sight now

People with a pure heart begin to recognize God’s presence and work in their lives.

Jesus said in John 14:21 that those who love Him will experience Him revealing Himself to them.

A pure heart gives clear spiritual vision.

2) Literally seeing God in eternity

Ultimately this promise points to heaven.

Scripture says believers will one day see God face-to-face:
• Revelation 22:4 — “They shall see His face.”

3. The deeper message Jesus was teaching

In Jesus’ time many religious leaders focused on external religion.

But Jesus taught that God looks at the heart first.

He later told the Pharisees in Matthew 23:26 to clean the inside of the cup first.

So Matthew 5:8 teaches:
• God cares about inner purity
• A sincere heart leads to closer relationship with God
• Those who truly seek Him will experience Him and eventually see Him

4. Simple way to understand the verse

Matthew 5:8 could be paraphrased like this:

“People whose hearts are sincere and devoted to God will experience His presence and one day see Him fully.”

Matthew 5:8 connects directly to the moment Adam walked with God in the garden (before sin corrupted the heart).

Matthew 5:7 NKJV
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
1. Blessed means;
a. In this passage, blessed means spiritually favored by God, experiencing His
approval and goodness. It’s not just happiness—it is living under God’s favor.
2. Merciful means;
a. Being merciful means showing compassion, forgiveness, and kindmess to
people who may not deserve it.
3. Mercy includes:
a. Forgiving those who hurt you
b. Helping people in need
c. Showing compassion instead of judgement
d. Withholding punishment when you have the right to give it
Mercy is love responding to someone’s suffering or failure.
4. They shall obtain mercy:
Jesus is teaching a spiritual principle:
People who truly understand God’s mercy toward them become merciful toward
others. And those who live that way continue to experience God’s mercy in their
lives.
This does not mean we earn salvation by being merciful. Rather merciful heart
shows that someone has already received God’s mercy.
5. The deeper spiritual meaning:
Jesus is describing the character of someone who belongs to God’s kingdom.
A person changed by God:
a. Remembers how much they have been forgiven
b. Therefore, becomes gentle and forgiving toward others.
6. This connects with other of Jesus teachings such as:
a. Forgiving others
b. Loving enemies
c. Caring or the weak or broken
7. A simple way to understand the verse:
You could word it like this:
“Those who show compassion and forgiveness to others will continue to experience
God’s compassion and forgivenss.”
8. Practical example:
Mercy looks like:
a. Choosing forgiveness instead of revenge
b. Giving grace when someone fails
c. Helping someone who cannot repay you
It reflects God’s own heart, because God is rich in mercy
