Last Thursday at Bible Study, our brother Leon S. and sister Alysah M. led us through Acts 8:5-8 and reminded us to BE BOLD.

In this passage, we see Philip traveling to Samaria to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. As the people listened to his message and witnessed the miracles taking place, many were healed and delivered from unclean spirits. Through Philip’s obedience and boldness in sharing the gospel, there was great joy throughout the city.

One of our biggest takeaways from the night was to BE BOLD IN OUR FAITH.

Sometimes, we allow fear, doubt, or our current circumstances to keep us from stepping into what God has called us to do. We may question whether we’re qualified, equipped, or capable of doing certain things, but we were reminded that our authority comes BY FAITH, NOT BY WORKS.

Our confidence should not come from our own abilities or accomplishments, but from who God is and what He has already given us. Just as Philip boldly proclaimed the gospel, we are called to trust God and walk in the authority He has given us through Christ.

We were also reminded of the importance of HAVING JOY IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES.

Joy is not something that should only exist when everything in our lives is going according to plan. Even in seasons of uncertainty, disappointment, or difficulty, we can still find joy in knowing that God is faithful.

Sometimes, we become so focused on what we don’t have, what hasn’t happened yet, or what we’re still waiting for that we overlook the blessings, opportunities, and gifts God has already placed in front of us.

Instead of allowing what we lack to determine our outlook, we should learn to recognize what God has already provided and trust Him with what is still to come.

BE BOLD. HAVE FAITH. CHOOSE JOY.

So the question we left with was:

What has God already given you that you may be overlooking because you’re focused on what you don’t have?

Last Thursday at Bible Study, our brother Leon S. and sister Alysah M. led us through Acts 8:1-3 and reminded us to BE BOLD.

In this passage, we see the persecution of the early church following Stephen’s death. Saul began going from house to house, dragging believers out and putting them in prison. Because of this persecution, many believers were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

Although the church was facing opposition, this was not the end of what God was doing.

One of our biggest takeaways from the night was to BE BOLD IN OUR FAITH.

Sometimes, the circumstances we face can cause us to question what we believe. When things don’t go the way we expected, it’s easy to focus on what we lack rather than recognizing what God has already provided.

But we were reminded that our authority comes BY FAITH, NOT BY WORKS.

Our confidence in Christ should not come from what we can accomplish on our own, but from who He is and what He has already done for us. Being bold in our faith means trusting in His promises, even when our circumstances don’t reflect what we hoped for.

Last Thursday at Bible Study, William and Leon P. led us through Acts 8:1–3 and reminded us that THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

One of our biggest takeaways from the night was that THE BEST IS YET TO COME.

Sometimes, the circumstances we face can make it difficult to see what God is doing. We may experience challenges, opposition, or unexpected changes that cause us to question what comes next. But just because things aren’t going the way we expected doesn’t mean God has stopped working.

We were also reminded of the importance of being bold in our faith.

Following Jesus doesn’t mean we will never face opposition or uncomfortable situations. Sometimes, it requires us to step outside of our comfort zones, stand firm in what we believe, and trust God even when we don’t know what the outcome will be.

The early church faced persecution, but God’s plan was still unfolding. What appeared to be a setback became part of how the gospel would spread to new places.

Don’t allow your current circumstances to discourage you from what God has called you to do. Continue to trust Him, remain faithful, and be bold in your walk with Christ.

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

So the question we left with was:

JERSEY BIGHT RECAP:

Last Thursday at Bible Study, William and Ciana led us through Acts 7:51-60 and reminded us to KEEP OUR EYES ON JESUS.

In this passage, Stephen boldly speaks the truth even when the people around him refuse to receive it. Their anger eventually leads to Stephen being stoned, but even in his final moments, his eyes remained fixed on Jesus.

One of our biggest takeaways from the night was to remain connected to Jesus.

Even when life gets difficult, people hurt us, or things don’t go the way we expected, our focus should remain on Him. Stephen’s circumstances were painful, but they did not change who he was following.

We were also reminded of the importance of forgiveness. As Stephen was being stoned, he prayed for the very people who were hurting him. Instead of holding onto bitterness, he chose to forgive and follow the example of Jesus.

Sometimes, following Jesus means surrendering the hurt, guilt, disappointment, or unforgiveness we’ve been holding onto. That can also mean forgiving ourselves for things God has already forgiven us for.

Keep your eyes on Jesus. Remain connected to Him. Forgive yourself and others. And continue to follow Him, even when it’s difficult.

So the question we left with was:

What’s one thing you’re holding onto that God may be asking you to surrender, and what’s one small step you can take this week to trust Him with it?

About last Thursday..

A time was had!!! We ate pizza and played lots of fun games andddd it got real competitive🤣😭

Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out. It was truly a great time, and we’re so glad you came!

We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled Bible study this Thursday, September 24. See you there! 📖✝️
