New Beginnings Baptist Church We are a young church located in the middle of Kennedy, NY. We are striving to reach those in the community around us with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our weekly schedule i as follows:

Sunday
Sunday School - 9:45 a.m. Classes are available for all ages. Morning Service - 11:00 a.m. Prayer Service - 5:45 p.m. Evening Service - 6:30 p.m. Tuesday
Youth Ministry - 7:00 p.m. in the gym
Parents' "Family Foundations" Class - 7:00 p.m. Thursday
Bible Study - 7:00 p.m. Our doctrinal statement is as follows:
•We believe the Bible is the inerrant, preserved, inspired Word of God.
•We believe God exists in three distinct yet equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
•We believe God spoke the universe and everything in it into existence in six literal, 24-hour days as we know them today about 6,000 years ago.
•We believe Jesus is the Son of God and is God. He is both 100% God and 100% man.
•We believe Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for man’s sin. Three days later He rose bodily from the grave, victorious over death. Forty days later He ascended bodily back into Heaven and promised to return again in like manner.
•We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin and regenerates the one who comes to God in faith. He baptizes, indwells, and seals all Believers at the moment of salvation.
•We believe angels are created beings. They are God’s messengers and help carry out His work.
•We believe man was created in God’s image. Adam’s sin marred that image, and everyone now receives that fallen nature at the moment of conception.
•We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Christ alone. No amount of good works can save anyone.
•We believe the church is the world-wide body of all those who are saved. The local church is a specific group of Believers in a specific area.
•We believe in the imminent, pre-millennial, pre-tribulation rapture of the church. Following this will be the Tribulation on earth, the Judgment Seat of Christ and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Heaven, the Second Coming of Christ, the Battle of Armageddon, the Millennial Reign of Christ, and the Great White Throne Judgment.

Have you ever heard that someone did something amazing, and you just wanted to meet that person? It happens all the time. It happened to Jesus. At the very beginning of His ministry, word got out about some of the amazing things He was doing. Word spread quickly across a large area. What was the result? Mark 3:8 says, "a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him." The people wanted to meet Jesus and be where He was because they heard what He had done. What are you doing to get the word out about Jesus today? It doesn’t have to be complicated. Just brag about what Jesus has done for you. Let other people see the positive difference He has made in your life. When they do, they will want Jesus to do the same for them. Tell someone today about the good things Jesus has done for you. You'll be glad you did!

Has anyone ever asked you a question that had such a simple answer it didn't require an actual answer from you? Jesus asked one of those in Matthew 16:26: "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" What good does it do you to get everything in the whole world - land, money, fame, influence, power - and lose your own soul? There is still no net profit in that. When you die, you will take nothing with you. When you die, having lost your soul, what will you offer to God to get your soul back? Nothing. There are more important things in life than money, things, and popularity. Your soul is eternal and will spend eternity somewhere - Heaven or Hell. Don't mess that one up. Stop chasing stuff. Much more important is to know you are saved. Jesus died and rose again to save your soul. Ask Him to do that today. You'll be forever glad you did!

"You can't judge a book by its cover." That's what they say, anyway. How about a person? Is there a reliable way to judge or discern what a person is like? In Matthew 12 Jesus was teaching about words. He said that we can tell the condition of a tree based on the fruit it has. Then He talked about the relationship between a person's words and the heart. You can tell what is in a person's heart by what comes out of his mouth. Verse 35 says, "A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things." Maybe you can't judge a book by its cover, but you can make a pretty good assessment about a person based on how he talks. What do your words reveal about the condition of your heart? If it's not good, fix your heart. Everyone will see the difference, and you'll be glad you did!

Have you ever given something up and realized later that you shouldn't have? You didn't think it was all that important, so you just got rid of it. That may be what happened in the country of the Gergesenes. Jesus and the Disciples arrived and were welcomed by a man who was demon possessed. Jesus healed the man of his spiritual problem. The people heard and came to see for themselves. Then they asked Jesus to leave. Jesus was the One Who fixed this uncontrollable situation, then they asked Him to leave. Matthew 8:34 says, "and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts." Don't let that be you. Never ask Jesus to leave you alone. It may seem like a very foolish thing to do, but people do it all the time. If you ignore Jesus all day long and only talk to Him when you need something, you're doing the same thing. You need Jesus every minute of every day. Keep Him close to you. You'll be glad you did!

Do you care about people? You definitely should. God cares about people, and He cares how you treat people. Zechariah 7:9-10 says, "Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart." Be honest. Have some mercy. Care about your brother. Don't take advantage of widows, orphans, foreigners, the poor. Don't even think evil things about someone. Pretty simple! Pretty profound! Just be nice to people. People are made in God's image. People need help. People need more than a superficial friendship. Just give people the care you would like to receive. You'll be glad you did!

Have you ever felt like you were spinning your wheels and getting nowhere? You try and try to get ahead, but you just can't seem to make any progress. That's what Haggai was describing. The people were working to make a living for themselves, but their fields weren't productive, their clothes were worn, and their money just disappeared. Then God told them why this was happening in 1:9: "Why? saith the LORD of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house." Everyone was concerned about themselves, but they gave no attention to God's things. How about you? How much effort do you put into the things of God? What are you doing to build His house? Obviously, it's not a physical house today. God's house is the church (I Timothy 3:15). In all of your activities of the day in trying to make something for yourself, make sure you give God some time to contribute to what He wants to build. You'll be glad you did!

How you treat people is important. You can't hurt them or take advantage of them and expect nothing to happen. That was the situation for the people of Nineveh. God sent Nahum with a very difficult message. The last verse in this short book, 3:19, summarizes the message well: "There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?" Their brutality toward others couldn't be ignored any longer. How do you treat people? Probably, you're not a brutal person like they were, but how you treat people matters. Treat people with respect. That doesn't mean you have to agree with them or accept what they do. You can and should just treat people well. God destroyed an entire city because of their wicked treatment of the others around them. Don't let that be you. Treat people well. You'll be glad you did!
