Coastal Maine Camps Farthest Out

Coastal Maine Camps Farthest Out Sadly, the hotel was sold in 2020 and we had to seek out a new home. The Franciscan Guest House is a non profit hotel.

Who We Are
We are believers from many different places with the same goal of growing stronger in the thing that matters—our personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Fall 2025 CAMP DATE: Friday, September 12-Wednesday, September 17, 2025

SPEAKERS: Pastor Gina Colorio & Lamplighters
MUSIC: Chel Finn
RHYTHMS: Judy Hakanson Smith

For over 25 years, Acadia CFO was privileged to meet at the historic

Claremont Hotel in Southwest Harbor Maine. As of 2021, we are now located along the coast of Maine in the beautiful town of Kennebunk, Coastal Maine CFO (formerly named Acadia CFO) has a new home at the historic Franciscan guest house just a couple of hours north of Boston and an hour south of Portland. The proceeds go to the friars’ many charities. The lawns and gardens are beautiful and close to the river, beach and the downtown shopping area. In keeping with Franciscan tradition, the hotel is of simple décor. In keeping with the friars heritage, Lithuanian food, decor and summer staff are an important part of the atmosphere. Guests come from all over the world to find spiritual and physical renewal. We hope you find that the friars, staff and fellow guests provide a unique sense of friendliness and care. http://www.franciscanguesthouse.com/about.html

This poem reflects a camper’s Acadia CFO (now Coastal Maine CFO) experience:

Acadia CFO

I open my eyes and what greets me
Smiling faces for the world to see
Welcome, we’re glad you are here
Take time to relax, just open your heart
Step farther out, without any fear
Learn to be quiet, to listen and pray
Music, art or writing will stretch you each day
Open up worlds you haven’t explored
Each step that you take brings a closer walk with the Lord.

What does the Lord require of you
as you go from this place,
but to do justice, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with God?
In the name of Jesus Christ,
go serve God and your neighbor
in all that you do.
Thanks be to God!

A prayer attributed to Francis of Assisi:

Lord, make us instruments of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.

O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

This is the goal of all true prayer---
to make the "stretching" of the mind to see God
a continuous habit all through the day
and to make the deep breathing of the soul
a steady automatic habit of subconsciousness.
This is in accord with St. Paul's admonition,
"pray without ceasing."

Our speaker this fall for Coastal Maine CFO is Pastor Gina T. Colorio also known as Pastor T.

Gina is a Worcester, Massachusetts native, born to a Calabrese father and a Korcare mother. She is a graduate of Assumption College and Yale University where Pastor T earned her Master of Divinity.

Gina is a contemplative at heart who shepherds others to ponder who Jesus is— grace focused— and the impact of knowing you are forgiven! This is the Good News Gina bestows.

Gina is no stranger to CFO....she attended for many years Winni CFO with her husband David Purdy and their children.

Gina is part of the ‘late deaf/hard of hearing’ community and has just been matched with a service dog.

Coastal Maine CFO warmly welcomes Gina/Pastor T to the Kennebunk area and the Franciscan Guest House this September 12-17, 2025.

Holy God,
in you alone
we find safety and shelter.
Be a sure refuge to all suffering
from wildfires in California.
Grant courage, protection,
and favorable weather
to firefighters and emergency responders;
embrace with supportive communities
all who are newly displaced or homeless;
comfort those grieving
all that has been destroyed
and give patience
to those who are anxious,
not knowing when relief will come.
Heal your whole creation,
that out of flame and ashes
new growth will spring forth.
We pray through Jesus Christ,
our life and our strength. Amen.

A prayer as we enter into these days of Thanksgiving:

Almighty God, our Father,
your generous goodness
comes to us new every day.
By the work of your Spirit
lead us to acknowledge your goodness,
give thanks for your benefits,
and serve you in willing obedience,
through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
Amen.
