In 1914, the United States Congress approved a resolution to designate the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day. Since then, US Presidents have called for the nation to observe and honor the essential role of a mother for “the well-being of our country”.
President Reagan said, “Mothers shape the America we know today, and are now molding the character of our country tomorrow“.
God bless the loving hands who have helped to shape and mold our beloved country and install in its people the values, which we hold so dearly as freedom. God bless the mothers who continue to give hope to the land of the free and who give life to the home of the brave.
In light of our nation’s 250th anniversary, let us honor the women whose virtues of sacrifice, love and devotion, both inspire and strengthen us as a Christian nation now, and for future generations. Psalm 33:12, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD”.
