Charlie's Lunch Ministries Charlie’s Lunch partners with local churches to reach out to children and families in needy, underdeveloped communities all over the world.

Sam and Janey Stewart's son, Charlie, was born with a serious heart defect. Through the work of brilliant doctors and many miracles, he survived birth. Although physically handicapped by his heart condition, Charlie was one of the most spiritually alive kids you could ever meet. On the first day of kidergarten, Charlie went to school proudly carrying the lunch that his mom had made for him. When J

aney checked on him at lunchtime, she found him sitting next to his new friend, Micah. Micah was eating Charlie's lunch and Charlie had the biggest smile on his face. Although feeling hungry, his smile told the story. He loved to give and watch the joy that he brought to others. This became the pattern of Charlie's life- giving and sacrifice. When he went with his dad to minister to the poor, he gave whatever he could to a needy child. Tragically, on Feb. 1, 1996, 3 weeks shy of his 13th birthday, Charlie's heart gave out and he went home to be with the Lord. While Charlie is gone, his giving spirit and God's love are packed into every one of Charlie's Lunches. Charlie's Lunch is a non-denominational, non-profit organization whose purpose is to demonstrate the love of God by feeding, teaching and empowering some of the world's neediest children. Hungry children eat freshly prepared lunch on a regular basis to help meet their nutritional needs. They also listen to Bible stories, sing songs, are taught personal hygiene, and just how important they are. In some cases, the adolescents are taught a trade, such as shoe-making, to help break the cycle of poverty in their lives. The mother's of Charlie's Lunch kids are asked to volunteer to help cook a meal once a month and are also given instruction on personal hygiene, child rearing, marriage issues, and God's Word. This young man grew up in Charlie's Lunch. It was awesome to see him all these years later and hear how God impacted his life through the ministry.

We have had a great time meeting with our pastors & leaders in Guatemala. We celebrated birthdays, gave out many gifts and had a great time laughing, worshipping, praying and teaching biblical principles. We all left encouraged! Praise God for what He is doing here in Guatemala!!

Now the journey continues onto Jalapa and a feeding center there with the kids tomorrow!
