Throwback Alert 🚨and an Announcement from Cindy the Campus Minister:

This August, I celebrated my 9th anniversary of serving God and the people of Keene as their Newman Center Campus Minister. I'm big into anniversaries, so apart from making me feel really old, this milestone gave me the chance to look back on nearly a decade of ministry, including to the moment in this picture, taken in 2015. The pic captures the moment after a post-prayer group hug back when social distancing wasn't a thing!

In the years since, that particular cohort of students has graduated, moved across the country, gotten married or engaged, and more. I've known hundreds of other students since then, attended their baptisms, handed tissues across the office, and had countless cups of chai with them while discussing their faith and what God has been doing in their lives. It's been a ride--and it's a ride that will be coming to its end soon.

After a long time of prayer and discernment, I'll be stepping down as the Newman Center Campus Minister, effective Friday, October 8th. I'm grateful for these past years with you all and for the countless memories we've shared. I'm in awe of all the good work God has done in this community, and I can't wait to see what else God does with someone new at the helm! Keene remains in my heart and my prayers, forever.

May my parting words be these: Remember that God makes pretty things out of messes.

Gosh what a difference a year makes! We're so glad to have you all back on campus--masked, vaccinated, and forming more community than last year!

“This isn’t exactly the uniform I thought I’d be wearing when I decided to go to Divinity school, but desperate times and all that...” This week, Cindy the Campus Minister starts delivering food and some pastoral care to the students in quarantine/isolation!

Great to see everyone for breakfast and fellowship this morning! We even had a Hootie 🦉 sighting and discussed the Patron Saint of clowns 🤡😬. Never a dull moment in Campus Ministry!

Calling all Catholics! It's our first meet-up of the year, and the Campus Minister is BRINGING BREAKFAST. Join us outside the Student Center at 9am on Friday for breakfast foods, community, and probably some card games. Send us a message if you have any dietary restrictions!

A Prayer for a New Semester:

Lord, as we prepare for the coming of a new semester, make us ready, attentive and available to hear you.

Thank You for the gift of being able to rise each day with the assurance that You walk through it with us.

Thank You for the gifts of creativity and uniqueness, and the energy to put them to good use.

May all that we are today, all that we try to do today, may all our encounters, reflections, even the frustrations and failings all be place in your hands.

May the work we do and the way we do it, bring new hope, new life, and courage to all we come in contact with this semester. We thank you, Lord. Amen

Do you like piña coladas? Getting caught in the rain? Then have you considered a career in Campus Ministry? 🤣 I can’t promise any piña coladas, but sometimes while you’re outside counseling stressed faculty, it starts raining so hard that there’s nothing to do but go jump in puddles together on the Quad. Turns out, that made them feel better than anything I could have said. Thank you, God, for the blessing of warm summertime rain!
