Today, we didn't do much with the Psalm, reviewed some of the parallels between the story of Sarah in the Old Testament and Mary in the New, didn't spend a lot of time untangling Paul...but, boy, did we lean into Matthew's gospel!

Then we had communion, with cheese curds and leftover Pride cookies. Because Pride is church, and church is Pride...and June is Dairy Month.

What a wonderful Pride in Appleton Saturday! We met some old friends, talked with many new people, and gave away a ton of stickers! A fun time was had by all. Many cookies were had by all, too!

Looking forward to seeing you at Fox Valley Pride in Jones Park on Saturday, June 13 starting at Noon. We will have a space for people to relax under our tent with free refreshments. We will also have hundreds of FREE pride stickers!! Stop by and see us.

Today, we followed the opening up of the Spirit, firstly as Acts recounts the gift to the devout and the Jews, then Peter telling everyone that it goes beyond them; Paul tells the Corinthians that they must use their gifts together for them to be of any use, and John reminds us that we have to so so responsibly.

So, the blessing of Pentecost, in whatever language (Bi, Trans, Le***an, Pan, Gay...or every other) you need to hear it in. It is still the same message, and it is still for you!

As we approach Pentecost, our readings get more focused so there isn't always the variety that we often have in our discussions. But this week did get us talking about predestination, and foreknowledge; with a bit of cynicism, and a lot of hope.

This week, we focused mostly about Peter reminding us that we were once "not a people" but are now "people of God". Mostly now so many other churches keep telling q***r folks otherwise.

Today, we started off easy, with the 23rd Psalm (always a classic). Then we talked about the disciples "coming out" in their praise and practice of what Jesus taught them. We had a big tougher discussion about putting up with unjust treatment, for ourselves and others. Finally, we talked about Q***r folk recognizing the voice of being welcomed...and how we have to say it to them or no one else will.

Budda also got mentioned in here somewhere, too.

We hope you had a happy Easter Sunday! We spent ours talking about what we believe in (or not), about Peter opening up the church for everybody (take the hint, some major denominations!), and all the little mysteries of John's resurrection story.

Today, we read the selections for Palm Sunday and the Passion, looked at them from new perspectives, and-in the spirit of taking the old ways and making then into a new thing, we signed the lease on our new space today!

On this Sunday, when an Act of God unexpectedly pushed us from in person to Zoom, we talked about leaders coming from unexpected places, and about how they may not have expected to become leaders themselves. We also talked about illegitimate leaders clinging to power, and how they react to the threat of their own irrelevance. In such times, we can only say what we know, as did the beggar-"All I know is that I was blind but now I see".
