Country Bible Church Women's Ministry

Country Bible Church Women's Ministry Helping women develop deeper relationships… with God, with family, and with other ladies in the church body.

" …it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
(Philippians 1:9-11)

In times of uncertainty, we are grateful to serve a God who is sovereign and wants to draw near to us! We’ve loved hearing your stories of how you’re studying God’s Word, praying, and finding creative ways to host small groups and experience community from afar. At LifeWay Women, one of the wa...

Hi Ladies! Our Bible Studies will begin again next week. I’m looking forward to it and I hope you all are too. Our book, The Gospel Comes With A Housekey by Rosaria Butterfield, has ten chapters and our goal will be one per week. For the first week we realize many won’t have read the first chapter. So we thought the groups could use the first week to reconnect and pray together. And if someone has skimmed or read some of the book they can share first impressions. Otherwise please share updates and maybe share your current feelings about hospitality and see if in the end the book changes your mind at all. I think even for those who consider themselves to be very hospitable people, this book will be like drinking from a hospitality firehose. But I pray the Lord will use this book to change and expand your Biblical understanding of how we are to interact with and serve one another.
Also, you’ll notice there are no study questions for each chapter. So we’ve written some questions that may help spark conversation should your group need some help.
◦ What is one practical step I can take toward making the type of hospitality we read about this week a realty in my life?
◦ Did any scripture come to mind as you read this chapter? Did Butterfield mention any biblical principles in this chapter?
◦ How can some of these ideas change how we at CBC approach church visitors or others outside our church community?
◦ What about this week’s chapter affected (or convicted) you the most and why?
◦ What about this week’s chapter seems impossible to incorporate into your daily life right now and why?
◦ What blessings could be gained from practicing some version of the hospitality we learned about this week?
