Katy First UMC Sunday Morning Recap
This Sunday we reflected on what it means to be witnesses in the world around us.
Not people pretending to have all the answers. Not people trying to win arguments. But people whose lives point toward compassion, justice, mercy, courage, and hope in a world shaped by fear, division, violence, and inequality.
Jesus tells the disciples, “You will be my witnesses.”
Ordinary people. Everyday people. People learning to notice where God is already moving in their communities, workplaces, schools, relationships, and even in the places that feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar.
We talked about how witness is not about bringing God somewhere God is absent. It is about helping make visible the dignity, healing, grace, and humanity that are too often ignored or overlooked.
Jerusalem. Judea. Samaria. The ends of the earth.
The places close to us.
The places we struggle to understand.
The places carrying pain, conflict, and injustice.
Congratulations to all of our Certified Lay Servants and Certified Lay Ministers who completed training this year and last year. Thank you for continuing to serve with compassion, humility, and care for others.
