This month we had fantastic “Summer Sharpening” student internship! 12 of our high school students completed a 4 week program consisting of learning how to plan a youth service, Bible studies, service projects and even preaching short sermons! We are incredibly proud of these students that chose to spend part of their summer break getting closer to the Lord!

From Pastor Cortez:

Recently our NextGen Pastor, Justin Durham, sent me the following email:

“Pastor, I found an excellent Focus on the Family video that gives some perspective and important advice for parents when it comes to: phones, ipad usage, internet access, screen time and online games. It also talks about potential dangers and even the science of giving kids unrestricted internet access. It suggest ways for parents to implement plans, communicate with their kids and have a more hands-on approach when it come to these things. It aired at the end of 2025, so it is relevant information.”

This is an absolutely wonderful resource video.

If you are parents of kids and/or youth, then I would like to urge you to take time view this informative and easy-to-understand video (see below).

What a fantastic weekend!

51 FLAG students and leaders were blessed by the Lord with powerful messages, time seeking God and praying for one another in the altar.

During our last night we had several students lingering in the presence of God over an hour after dismissal. The Lord moved in a mighty way!

We had so much fun playing games, riding ziplines and fishing in the sun. The s’mores weren’t the only thing that got roasted 😆

The students had such a wonderful time that they’re already talking about the next retreat. If you missed out, don’t let the opportunity pass next year!
