Dear people of Christ Church, tomorrow our new Sunday School quarter starts! Please prayerfully consider which of the following classes you would like to attend:
Christians and Politics — What is politics? What is a Christian? This class does not debate political positions. Instead, it surveys the philosophers who shaped political thought—power, order, meaning, purpose—and examines Scripture on these same terms, as an unbeliever would. As Christians, have we grasped the depth of Scripture, or are we just seeking a defense of cultural Christianity? (Room 101 — Tom Ro)
Romans: The Power of the Gospel — The book of Romans is the Bible's most comprehensive summary of salvation through Jesus Christ. Martin Luther rediscovered the doctrine of justification by faith alone in Romans, and it began the Protestant Reformation. 1000 years before Luther, a young man randomly opened the New Testament to Romans and he (Augustine) became one of the greatest theologians in history. (Room 102 — Daryl Brister)
Helping One Another to Finish Well — No matter where you are in life's journey, there will be a finish line, and the Scriptures give us instructions to help one another finish well. We will look at the examples of several Bible characters , some whose pilgrimage ended well, and others that didn't. Why did it happen that way? The race you are running will reach an eternal destination, so let us learn the principles of "numbering our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom" and "finish with joy" the "race that is set before us looking away unto Jesus." (Room 107 — Steve Jennings)
