In Loving Memory of Javier Alegría Miranda

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, July 3, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.

Javier Alegría Miranda, age 68, passed away on May 25, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1957, in Amealco, Querétaro.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, María de los Ángeles Alegría; his children, Andrea, Jocelyn, and Javier; and his granddaughters, Valerie and Elliana.

From a young age, Javier was known as a hardworking, humble, noble, and independent man. He carried a deep sense of responsibility and love for his family throughout his life.

Javier truly lived up to his last name, Alegría. He was joyful, positive, and hopeful, with a sincere smile and a generous heart. He loved music, enjoyed dancing, and was a loyal friend to many.

His Catholic faith gave him strength and comfort in every season of life. Above all, Javier shined as a husband, father, and grandfather. He taught his family by example the values of honesty, respect, hard work, perseverance, and love.

Today we commend Javier to the mercy of God and give thanks for the life he shared with his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of faith, humility, joy, and love will remain in our hearts.

May he rest in peace.

Dr. James Francis Donaldson
January 29, 1936 – June 18, 2026

A Funeral Mass for Dr. James Francis Donaldson will be celebrated on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church, 5356 11th Street, Katy, TX 77493. The committal will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Wallis, Texas.

Dr. James Francis Donaldson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, devout Catholic, professor, philosopher, musician, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully at home on June 18, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Galveston, Texas, James lived a life marked by intellectual curiosity, compassion, humility, and deep devotion to those he loved. A gifted linguist, he spoke six languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Greek, and Latin.

James met the love of his life, Louisa, in Mexico City. Together they shared 65 years of marriage rooted in love, faith, and devotion. After earning his Ph.D. in Philosophy at Laval University in Quebec, Canada, he dedicated his life to education, teaching at Texas Tech University, the University of Houston, and B. F. Terry High School in Rosenberg. His students remember him for his wisdom, kindness, encouragement, and sincere concern for their futures.

James had a special love for serving Hispanic students and those facing economic hardship, encouraging many young people to pursue college and new opportunities. He was also an accomplished classical guitarist, a lover of books, music, nature, animals, gardening, swimming, and thoughtful conversation.

Though highly accomplished, James remained humble, approachable, and kind. His family will forever cherish his humor, his laugh, his wisdom, and his steady love.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Robert Donaldson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Louisa Donaldson; his children, Francisco, Dr. Micaela, Elizabeth, and Araceli; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many relatives, friends, and former students whose lives he touched.
